Lifestyle; it’s our anniversary! β€οΈ

This weekend we celebrated our 3 year anniversary. I mean 3 years…how?! How has the time gone that fast? πŸ™ˆ  I still remember our first few dates like they were yesterday!

We went out for dinner at one of my favourite restaurants, Market Bistro. It’s actually closing next week, which I am so gutted about so it was definitely a no brainer for where we were going to go for dinner. We had two courses, plus a little tasting dish to start & obviously I had some prosecco 🍾

I love this restaurants sourdough bread…. Literally drooling just thinking about it. All homemade too. I can’t even explain to you how good this food is. So much flavour & so much thought goes into the presentation. Look at my panna cotta 😍

I cooked for Sam & we had a lovely chilled evening in on the Saturday. We watched a film on Netflix & enjoyed some treats πŸ™„ probably too much, but oh well πŸ’πŸ½ if you haven’t watched it, we watched look away. Was actually quite good!

Look at my stunning flowers that Sam had delivered for me!! The florist is actually one of Sam’s friends & honestly she knows me so well. She gets my flowers spot on every time! They’re from Lily Jayne Florist. I bought Sam some cute date night idea cards from not on the high street & Lindt chocolates, which I hope he will share πŸ˜‚

Thanks for another fabulous year Sam! Here’s to many more πŸ’ž

Lifestyle; we had time off β›±β˜€οΈ

Myself & Sam had last week off work so I thought I’d share with you how we spent our week! Sorry to bore you all..

We literally got up & went to the gym for 6.30am, yes we’re nuts! We then got home had breakfast & started doing some jobs! I literally did like 3 loads of washing & ironing. Plus I mopped the floors & hoovered! We had our headboard being delivered that day & the coffee table for the lounge. Sam built the table & put the new headboard on, because he’s a babe… Duh!

I got up, had a doctors appointment (nothing major just a pill check) went to the gym & then popped to the bank. Sam waited at home for the BT engineer to come as we now have BT internet & TV. It wasn’t all successful as the you view box needs some sort of adaptor, yeah I’m not that tech savvy, sorry guys πŸ™ˆ we had a few more deliveries coming that day so we had to wait in.

We had a tesco delivery first thing at 8am so we got ourselves ready whilst waiting for that. We then went into town, got ourselves some more plates, a doormat, toiletries etc. Sam then had a physio appointment & after that we made our way to the coast! We stopped in Wells, had a drink in the sunshine too of course! 🍸 We did have a few games in the arcades too, I’m a big kid really! On the way home we went to Thornham & stopped at Eric’s for fish & chips. Honestly the tastiest fish & chips I’ve ever had!!

Again, started our day at the gym πŸ’ͺ🏽 then we took Sam’s mum to an appointment later that morning & whilst we waited for her to finish we went & had some lunch! We visited a place called the lean pantry co, it’s a place that has a lot of gluten free, vegan option kinds of meals! Brilliant for me being dairy free πŸ’πŸ½ look how yum this was!

We spent today doing jobs around the house, washing, cleaning & ironing etc. Sam washed the cars, because he’s honestly the best boyfriend ever! We then nipped back to his mum & dads so he could watch football, of course I spent my evening with the cat on my lap

Saturday & Sunday;

On Saturday morning we did a few jobs before I decided to have the most amazing bubble bath & completely pamper myself! Sam went to watch his team play football as he’s got a knee injury at the moment so is unable to play bless him. We the went to a wedding reception that evening to celebrate his friends wedding. We didn’t get a photo together 😩 but we had so much fun. A few too many cocktails were had that evening.

Sunday we weren’t hungover, just knackered. We had a next delivery come so Sam then built those… We now have nesting tables & a shoe cupboard! πŸ™ŒπŸ½

How are you spending your summer? Are you having time at home or going away?

Who loves food? Caitlin does; favourite places πŸ΄πŸ˜‹

Anyone who knows me knows I loooove food. So I thought I would share with you a few of my favourite places to eat near me, sorry if you’re reading this & you don’t live where I live. I don’t blame you if you stop reading now… This WILL make you hungry.

Market bistro

This is by far my absolute favourite place ever. I have never had a bad experience here. The food is top quality, the service is outstanding & the setting is so lovely. The owners are fantastic and I love that they make you so welcome. Lucy always remembers people which is to me a lovely touch. I have had birthdays, Sunday roasts & valentines meals. Always spot on. They will opening a deli next door soon, so I cannot wait to visit! Little tip; the sourdough bread is to die for.

The orange tree

The first time I visited here was with sam when we drove round the coast for a day last summer. They are known for their amazing desserts. We stopped on the off chance they had a table, so we were lucky. And of course we had some delicious food! I mean look at that dessert!! The presentation is spot on.

To me you can’t beat prezzo! They do so many deals as well so it’s never very expensive. I think Italian has to be one of my favourites as well. There is something for every one. Plus their peach Bellini is sooo yum! 🍹

I think I have eaten in wildwood 3 times now and every time I have really enjoyed it. The first time we had no clue what the waiter was saying to us πŸ™ˆ but the food we ended up with was good πŸ’πŸ½πŸ˜‚ but anyway.. Again tasty cocktails, yummy food. At a reasonable price aswell. We recently went out as a four & two courses each & four drinks came to Β£85, so that’s not bad! They had a magician walk around the tables when we last went, I think that’s a really good added touch. Brownie points there wildwood. By the way… Not a cringey magician, I know what you’re all thinking.

The lifeboat inn

I love visiting the places that are near the coast. They’re always so cute & so welcoming. The orange tree was in the same village as this restaurant & they are both fabulous. If I could live in thornham I’d love to… But I’d also never cook & be very poor.  We visited here for mine & Sams 1 year anniversary. We most definitely weren’t disappointed. I can’t wait to go back again.

I hope this hasn’t made you too hungry, but hungry enough to make you want to try one of these places.

My birthday; the pigs edgefield, holt πŸΎπŸŽ‚

When asked what I wanted to do for my birthday I knew in an instant. Ever since I had found this place I had been itching to go. Sam literally booked this back in March πŸ™ˆ if you’re anything like me you will LOVE this place.

As soon as we arrived I instantly felt relaxed. The place is so welcoming & so are the staff. When we checked in the lady couldn’t have been anymore helpful. She booked us a table for the evening & a slot to use the hot tub the following morning. We didn’t even realise we could do that, plus it was free too. Which was a nice surprise.

The room

We booked an original spa room which I was more than happy about 😍 the bathroom was stunning with marble tiles, a drench shower 🚿 & some luxury toiletries. I used the shower on the morning we left & for a bath lover I was pleased πŸ˜‚  the bed was massive!! Really comfy too. A wall mounted tv in front of the bed if you wanted a cosy night with a film. Plus tea, coffee, hot choc & bottled water. Then it gets to the good bit.. The dual bath tub with tv & the sauna. I mean your own sauna? What more could you want?! There was even a little candle by the bath πŸ•― outside there was a firepit with logs, fire lighters, matches & newspaper! Even blankets to wrap up in when it gets chilly. They really have thought of everything. There were plenty of towels & robes too. I think the floor was heated too so it can still be enjoyed in the winter months.

The extras

The little added touches always make an experience complete. So the rooms didn’t have their own fridges etc which then meant we had our own fridge in the corridor our room was   down. I think we shared it with 4/5 other rooms. The fridge had milk, soft drinks etc in it. Then on the side was a biscuit barrel, these were sooo yummy, lemon sweets galore, marshmallows for toasting by the fire & sticks too πŸ’πŸ½ plus sauna oil to help yourself to. In the cupboards were more logs for the fire, games if you fancied playing a game during your stay too… πŸ™„yeah, no comment on that one.

The food

Our evening meal was delicious. We had four iffits to share for a starter, whitebait, gin cured salmon, bacon & Cromer crab cake. So yum. Even though it took me a little while to actually eat the whitebait πŸ™ˆ  for the main I had ham hock with mash & roasted veggies. I definitely couldn’t eat it all there was sooo much. Sam had battered fish & chips, which looked tasty.. Didn’t get to try that as Sam demolished his πŸ™Š we both had a few drinks with it too, but the dessert we had to give a miss as we were both so full.. Breakfast was again, perfect. I had smoked salmon & scrambled eggs. Sam wanted the same but I had the last of the salmon, sorry babe πŸ™ˆ  so he had kedgeree, which is haddock & poached egg. Was actually really tasty πŸ˜‹ they also had loads of nice yoghurts & bits that you could help yourself to. Look at my cute little tea cosy 🐷

The experience

When we arrived the first thing we did was have a few drinks at the bar, because it was my birthday so why not? 🍾  lovely atmosphere & reasonably priced too πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ we then decided to order a smoothie to be brought to our room, which were alcohol based. I had ‘tropigal’ which was coconut, banana & Malibu 🍌 & Sam had ‘pigs nickers’ which was chocolate & peanut butter with baileys 🍫 we decided to get straight in the bath, I did bring a bath bomb with me which was one Sam got me for my birthday. It smelt sooo good. We drank these whilst we relaxed in the tub watching tv. Got a liiiiittle bit carried away & forgot the time. So then we both started to get ready for our meal.

Like I’ve already said the dinner was amazing, so I won’t waffle on too much. But if you ever go you MUST have the ham hock. Delicious πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ we had by this time had a few too many to drink πŸ™„

We decided to grab a load of goodies from the cupboard, so mainly biscuits & marshmallows πŸ˜‚ Sam was getting the fire going whilst I set the sauna up, which took 20 minutes to heat up. I opened a bottle of prosecco for us to continue to celebrate. The fire was a bit of a disaster… πŸ”₯ we just ended up smelling of smoke, so we gave up & took our drinks into the sauna! Hot hot hot πŸ’¦ we then got back in the tub & watched a movie. We were both knackered after a hard day of relaxing πŸ˜‚

The following morning we had our breakfast. So anyone who knows me & Sam will know we love food, we love it that much we were the first ones up for breakfast πŸ™„β˜•οΈ  after breakfast we went through to the hot tub & had a lovely time chatting away to each other. It can’t get much better than that on a Monday morning. . I didn’t want to leave the place was so good.

Has anybody else ever been here? I’d love to know your thoughts & how your stay went.

Ps. I bought my dog some posh sweets, chicken & rice sticks πŸΆπŸ’–

One year anniversary πŸ’• Sam & CaitlinΒ

Myself & Sam have celebrated our 1 year anniversary on 17th August. We did a few different things for it . I had to share with you all.

So I decided to treat him to a good present seeing as he seems to enjoy treating me every weekend. I bought us Ed Sheeran tickets & kept it a secret from him. So pleased with myself haha. I let him know in his card, so at 6am that morning I basically threw the card at him, haha! He was pleased so mission accomplished πŸ‘ŒπŸΌπŸ˜„

He got me the cutest card ever, it obviously had dogs on it πŸ˜‚  I had a bouquet of flowers delivered to my door, he treated me to a meal out at a lovely restaurant along the coast & he bought us tickets to a London show (which you will see later on) I really am a lucky girl.

We ate out at a restaurant called the lifeboat inn, thornham. Such a lovely place. We have eaten out in thornham before & loved it so we thought we would give this restaurant a go. It had such a cute feel to it, plus it’s on the coast so they allow dogs in, sooo many cute little angels in there 🐢 anyway, the food was perfect! Plus the service was good, they kept apologising for a wait between starter & main, which we really weren’t fussed about. We wanted to spend the evening there so we did πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ for 3 courses each & an alcohol drink each it came to Β£64, which we thought was reasonable. We would definitely go back 🍾

So the show we went to…Now I honestly can not tell you how amazing & fun this was. We went to the vaults in London, it was a show but an interactive one. It was called Alice underground, based on Alice in wonderland. I want to tell you all the ins & outs but I don’t want to spoil it for everyone. But basically you go into different areas & rooms that have been created for the different characters. You get to run around, eat tarts, drink potions to make you shrink, chat with the characters & if you’re lucky enough to get picked, like me, secret missions need to be completed. We honestly had such a great day. Sam booked the tickets through designmynight & they were Β£37.50 each. A bargain for an hour & a half in London.

We started the day off with a delicious breakfast at the lighterman too.. With a cocktail πŸΉπŸ™„ of course πŸ’πŸ½  to those who don’t know, eggs benedict is my absolute favourite breakfast.

I feel like we really did celebrate πŸΎπŸ’• and I know I am a VERY lucky girl to have him. Love you Sam 😘 (if you ever read this) πŸ˜‚ does anybody else’s other halves read their blogs?
