Lifestyle; girls trip to Manchester πŸΈπŸ°

Before I get in to this post I would like to thank Alice for making me laugh & constantly smile for two days straight!! Also… For putting up with all my moods πŸ˜‚ especially when I was hangry!

We had a fab few days away for a little girly break! We went to Manchester as we wanted to go to friendsfest. If you have never been you really should it was so much fun! We started the break the right way with a few drinks on the train… I’m such a lightweight I was yawning away after a couple πŸ˜‚ honestly though I needed it.

The hotel was fabulous for the price! We paid Β£68 each for two nights. To me that’s a bargain. It was in the centre & just look at how funky it was!! The bed was comfy (actually had the best night sleep I’ve had in ages) & we even had breakfast included. We were literally in a croissant coma… Oops!

I don’t want to go to into what happened at friendsfest as I’ll do that in another post. But we had the best day ever! My cheeks hurt from smiling so much. If you’re a friends fan I would highly recommend it. Could we be any happier?!

We ate out that evening & had a few drinks too 🍸 we went to the slug & lettuce, drank a few pornstar martinis between the two of us… πŸ™„ & had some food too obviously! Ha! When we got back to the hotel we put on Celebs go dating & had like a big girly sleepover with another couple of drinks & lots of nibbles while we were tucked up in our beds πŸ˜‚ we’re either big kids or old ladies!

On our last day it was bucketing it down, but we walked so much our feet hurt πŸ™ˆ did a little bit of shopping in the city & then made our way to have afternoon tea. The venue was stunning, we went to cloud 23 which had incredible views. The afternoon tea itself was delicious too!

Literally we did soooo much in a small amount of time, but we had such a good girly getaway!!

Lifestyle; it’s our anniversary! β€οΈ

This weekend we celebrated our 3 year anniversary. I mean 3 years…how?! How has the time gone that fast? πŸ™ˆ  I still remember our first few dates like they were yesterday!

We went out for dinner at one of my favourite restaurants, Market Bistro. It’s actually closing next week, which I am so gutted about so it was definitely a no brainer for where we were going to go for dinner. We had two courses, plus a little tasting dish to start & obviously I had some prosecco 🍾

I love this restaurants sourdough bread…. Literally drooling just thinking about it. All homemade too. I can’t even explain to you how good this food is. So much flavour & so much thought goes into the presentation. Look at my panna cotta 😍

I cooked for Sam & we had a lovely chilled evening in on the Saturday. We watched a film on Netflix & enjoyed some treats πŸ™„ probably too much, but oh well πŸ’πŸ½ if you haven’t watched it, we watched look away. Was actually quite good!

Look at my stunning flowers that Sam had delivered for me!! The florist is actually one of Sam’s friends & honestly she knows me so well. She gets my flowers spot on every time! They’re from Lily Jayne Florist. I bought Sam some cute date night idea cards from not on the high street & Lindt chocolates, which I hope he will share πŸ˜‚

Thanks for another fabulous year Sam! Here’s to many more πŸ’ž

Lifestyle; we had time off β›±β˜€οΈ

Myself & Sam had last week off work so I thought I’d share with you how we spent our week! Sorry to bore you all..

Monday;

We literally got up & went to the gym for 6.30am, yes we’re nuts! We then got home had breakfast & started doing some jobs! I literally did like 3 loads of washing & ironing. Plus I mopped the floors & hoovered! We had our headboard being delivered that day & the coffee table for the lounge. Sam built the table & put the new headboard on, because he’s a babe… Duh!

Tuesday;

I got up, had a doctors appointment (nothing major just a pill check) went to the gym & then popped to the bank. Sam waited at home for the BT engineer to come as we now have BT internet & TV. It wasn’t all successful as the you view box needs some sort of adaptor, yeah I’m not that tech savvy, sorry guys πŸ™ˆ we had a few more deliveries coming that day so we had to wait in.

Wednesday;

We had a tesco delivery first thing at 8am so we got ourselves ready whilst waiting for that. We then went into town, got ourselves some more plates, a doormat, toiletries etc. Sam then had a physio appointment & after that we made our way to the coast! We stopped in Wells, had a drink in the sunshine too of course! 🍸 We did have a few games in the arcades too, I’m a big kid really! On the way home we went to Thornham & stopped at Eric’s for fish & chips. Honestly the tastiest fish & chips I’ve ever had!!

Thursday;

Again, started our day at the gym πŸ’ͺ🏽 then we took Sam’s mum to an appointment later that morning & whilst we waited for her to finish we went & had some lunch! We visited a place called the lean pantry co, it’s a place that has a lot of gluten free, vegan option kinds of meals! Brilliant for me being dairy free πŸ’πŸ½ look how yum this was!

Friday;

We spent today doing jobs around the house, washing, cleaning & ironing etc. Sam washed the cars, because he’s honestly the best boyfriend ever! We then nipped back to his mum & dads so he could watch football, of course I spent my evening with the cat on my lap

Saturday & Sunday;

On Saturday morning we did a few jobs before I decided to have the most amazing bubble bath & completely pamper myself! Sam went to watch his team play football as he’s got a knee injury at the moment so is unable to play bless him. We the went to a wedding reception that evening to celebrate his friends wedding. We didn’t get a photo together 😩 but we had so much fun. A few too many cocktails were had that evening.

Sunday we weren’t hungover, just knackered. We had a next delivery come so Sam then built those… We now have nesting tables & a shoe cupboard! πŸ™ŒπŸ½

How are you spending your summer? Are you having time at home or going away?

Dublin; April 2018 πŸ»πŸ€

I booked flights to Dublin way back in July for Sam as a present. He does a lot for me so I thought it was my turn to treat him πŸ’πŸ½ the flights were with British airways which was a treat as we normally have a budget airline! The hotel we booked on booking.com but the reviews seemed good & it was in the city centre. It was comfy & did the job! If you’re wanting a place to stay we stayed at Academy Plaza & it was Β£235 for 3 nights πŸ‘ŒπŸ½

Monday; when we arrived we decided to unpack & have a drink at the hotel to just chill as travelling is quite tiring. I had a couple of mixers & of course Sam had Guinness. When in Dublin & everything hey πŸ˜‚

We then got ourselves cleaned up & went exploring. We stopped for food at a place called Mexico to Rome. We really rushed this & it really wasn’t anything special! I had fish & chips & Sam demolished his fajitas!

We walked across the road to the temple bar after this, a place I am sure everyone has heard of. The drinks were stupidly overpriced but the atmosphere was brilliant. It’s a place you really have to go to though as it shows how the Irish live πŸ’πŸ½πŸ»

Tuesday; this was an early start & jam packed day! We had booked to go to Kilmainham Gaol & it didn’t disappoint. I find this kind of stuff really interesting. We had breakfast nearby at a little cafe called lime tree cafe & it was so yum… Plus look how healthy it was.

When we came out of the gaol it was bucketing it down so we got an uber back to the centre!

We then went to the Jameson factory… As you do when neither of you really like whiskey πŸ˜‚ but I did try them all & sort of enjoyed my drink at the end πŸ™ˆ this was then followed by a trip to the Guinness factory… Not my kind of drink but Sam loves it πŸ’πŸ½ so he had 1 & 1/2 pints 🍻

My legs honestly ached so much after all of this but we got back to the hotel, got changed & went out for our dinner! We ate at a place called bagots Hutton – look at that handsome man I got to stare at 😍😍 I had bruschetta, followed by a mushroom pasta πŸ˜‹

Wednesday; we got up & gymmed first before going out for a wander. We stopped for a quick snacky breakfast at the shopping centre first though… Our lives revolve around food I swear. We literally just walked for hours, browsing in some shops & just sightseeing before having some lunch at a place called Alfie’s. If you know me you’ll know why I wanted to visit here… Nothing to do with the dog, nooo πŸ™„  but the food & cocktails were yum & very well priced.

We then popped to tesco nearby & got a bottle of wine & drank that whilst getting ready for dinner that evening. We ate at Bar Italia this time & I think this was the best place we ate at. I did have bruschetta again, but it is my fav! We had some good drinks & sat & chatted for hours! I love having a bit of time just me & Sam.

Thursday; we went & got supplies from tesco before coming back to have a quick gym session before getting ready to come home πŸ˜”

I have to say the transport was brilliant we got a bus from outside the hotel to & from the airport for 12€ what a bargain! I loved getting away & doing some exploring. But I am ready to chill now πŸ˜‚

Has anybody else ever been to dublin?

Birmingham; cocktails galore πŸΉπŸΈ

So we spent the bank holiday in Birmingham, just enjoying some time to ourselves. Whenever we go out we never both get to have a drink so we thought we’d have a treat.

To start this off we (I say we, I mean I) booked a hotel on booking.com. I looove this site!! It was an absolute bargain at Β£59! The hotel was like a 10 minute walk to the shops… perfect πŸ‘ŒπŸ½ so as soon as we arrived we walked in. The hotel was called pentahotel, it literally looked so good. For Β£59 you could not complain. The bed was comfy, the shower was lovely & the room was a good size for a short stay πŸ‘πŸ½ we had a drink in the hotel before we went out for dinner & I have to say it was quite pricey, but it did have a lot of good drinks. It also had anatomicals toiletries 😍 that literally made my stay πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚ & of course they came home with me.

We went to the bullring when we arrived in Birmingham to do some window shopping, but decided that we were too hot, so we started having some drinks early on in the day… πŸ™„ it was bank holiday after all & the sun was shining. We had a drink in all bar one to start with which was sooo yummy. I had a pornstar martini & Sam had a cider. Both were so nice! We love this place 🍹 we also had some lunch in a place called burritos, you’ll never guess what they sell… πŸŒ―πŸ™Š  really tasty & I had never heard of it before but it was fairly busy.

In the evening we had booked our meal at an Italian restaurant called cielo. Never heard of this place either, but we love Italian food so I knew we would enjoy it. We had a 3 course meal each & an alcoholic drink. Guess what I had, another cocktail, this time it was a Cosmo though πŸ’πŸ½πŸΈ it came to Β£82 including the service charge, which isn’t too bad for a city I didn’t think. Plus it was super tasty πŸ˜‹

To end the evening we had some more cocktails in all bar one & a cute little place called pitcher & piano along the canal. It was really pretty! We literally just enjoyed time to ourselves rabbiting on & not having to worry about time. If you ever visit Birmingham you have to go to pitcher & piano as its just the cutest place to sit outside.

What did you get up to this weekend?
