Lifestyle; our Valentine’s Day 2019 πŸ’ž

We’re not huge valentines people but we still like to just show we do love & appreciate each other! We didn’t do presents last year as we had just got the keys to the house. So we actually decided to be soppy this year 😍

Sam wasn’t here for Valentine’s Day this year, he had gone skiing with his dad, so we celebrated on the Friday. I didn’t want to go out this year as we now live together & it’s our first Valentine’s in our home so I wanted to make the most of that.

Sam got me some flowers delivered on Valentine’s Day… He is a good’un! He also ordered me some bath bombs from bomb cosmetics which came in the week too & I enjoyed those πŸ› he knows me so well. I bought Sam a cute photo book from free prints & a belt from Levi’s.

I cooked us a yummy meal & decorated the house a little bit too. Sam had steak & I had fish. Then we enjoyed some brownies & cookies that I had baked the day before.

How did you spend your Valentine’s Day?

Lifestyle; the truth about living together πŸ™ŠπŸ‘

I feel like now we’re settled in I’ll give you a little update, but this time on us πŸ’πŸ½ so why not share to pro’s & con’s with you all hey? I am really enjoying our little routines & obviously just seeing him everyday!  Awwww

Pro’s;

Seeing each other everyday had to be top!

He gets dinner ready for me when it’s my late finish at work & I obviously return that favour on my early finishes. Plus he’s pro at scrambled eggs for breakfast!

We’re both as nutty as each other & keep talking to all the cats down the street… I even stroke one of them πŸ™ˆ (he is the only one that lets me) I think I’m the worst… πŸ˜‚

Spoons every night (Sam shared this one)

Con’s;

Sam needs to learn to put the bloody toilet seat down πŸ˜‚

My hair all over the floor, the bed etc just everywhere & it’s even annoying meπŸ’†πŸ½

Sam moans about his knee everyday πŸš‘ (& this one) – he hurt it playing football just before we moved in, so it’s been quite a while.

Now I just need to work on getting that cat – Sam says in the new year but I’m sure he will get fed up hearing me say can we get a cat now?! πŸ˜‚  look how cute the neighbours cats are! I’ve even named them all πŸ™„

What would be your pros and cons?

Lifestyle; it’s our anniversary! πŸ’žπŸ’Œ

Can you believe it?! 2 years together! Honestly time flies when you’re having fun!

We didn’t celebrate as much as we did last year, but we have a lot less money at the minute πŸ˜‚ so we said we would just get cards for each other. Sam got me the best card I have ever seen!!! He knows the little mermaid is my fav film πŸ’πŸ½ & I just went for a standard soppy one πŸ™ˆ

I cooked dinner for us & we spent the evening watching TV & films, cuddled up on the sofa with a gin too, of course! Also plenty of chocolate was consumed 🍸 I cooked us prawn cocktail for a starter & then a burger with homemade chips πŸ” so yum!

On Saturday evening we did go out for a meal to one of our favourite places, but we took his mum & dad too as a Thankyou for all they have done for us recently. So I did get to dress up 😍 We decided to combine it because if not we would be piling on the pounds πŸ˜‚ we went to The Lifeboat Inn, in Thornham. I would definitely recommend anyone to go here it’s so lovely… Plus they let dogs in πŸ™„πŸ™Š

I hope you all had a lovely weekend ☺️

Lifestyle; we have finally moved in πŸ‘πŸ”‘Β

Wooohoo! Finally! I am now living with Sam 😍

So far so good everyone πŸ’πŸ½ I asked Sam a few weeks ago what he was most excited about when it came to us living together, he replied ‘eating what I want when I want’. Babe.. I meant about me πŸ˜‚ although that’s what I was thinking too. So who wants a tour around the house?! Of course you do!!

HALLWAY; it’s completely empty. We need a doormat desperately & the cupboard we’ve ordered needs to hurry up πŸ˜‚

LOUNGE; we’re just waiting for some nesting tables to be delivered in this room!

OUR BEDROOM; we have no furniture in here yet so we took Sam’s bedside tables for now. We’re having the furniture built in soon hopefully ☺️

SPARE BEDROOM; this has all my furniture in it & the only thing we need to do in here is brick the door up (which I think you can just about see) & hang some curtains.

BATHROOM; this is my absolute favourite!! The only thing we need in here is a mirror over the sink πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ but how pretty is that!

KITCHEN; this is Sam’s favourite room. Completely finished in here 😍

DINING ROOM; it’s stunning! We’re going to hang a copper mirror & Sam wants to put a tv  up too.

CONSERVATORY; the only thing we have in here are lights. We’re undecided on furniture as it will fade in the sun.

So, yeah as you can see we still have a lot to do. But we have come a long way! It’s been a lot of hard work but it’s been so worth it 😍😍 if you want to see a post on the before & after’s let me know!

Valentine’s Day; 2018 πŸŒΉβ™₯️

This year Sam & myself decided not to do presents, just cards! So I got him a super me sort of card πŸ’πŸ½ & he got me one that was completely perfect for me… 🐢🐢

We also decided to stay in on Valentine’s Day itself, so I cooked for us! πŸ˜‹ I decided to do a sort of paella. Sam’s a bit of a seafood & fish lover, so I knew I wouldn’t go wrong with this meal! We then went to the gym still, as we always do on a Wednesday πŸ’ͺ🏽  & it was sooo quiet πŸ‘ŒπŸ½

It was Sam’s turn to choose where we went out this year, he originally chose the lifeboat at thornham, but we had an email come through for prezzo & the deal was too good to turn down. Prezzo was where we had our first date (awww…) πŸ’πŸ½πŸ’ž   We had 3 courses & a bottle of prosecco. I should say I had a bottle of prosecco really πŸ™„πŸ˜‚  thought I’d show you my outfit too πŸ™Š

Where did you go or how did you celebrate? If you did ☺️

Blogmas; day 9 πŸŽ‰πŸŽ

Sorry lovelies! Today isn’t Christmas related… Just want to share with you how we spent my other halves birthday πŸŽπŸŽ‰ (which was December 1st) we can’t have Christmas until after his birthday….

I ordered loads of balloons etc for him & decorations. Nobody wants a naff birthday after all. We were in Tenerife & I thought I needed to do something to show him how happy he makes me! So while he was at the gym that morning I literally went over the top with decorating our room ☺️

I ordered a cake too before we went so that I could still sing to him, terribly πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ he loves  my singing really…. I’ll tell you all about the cake in another post by the way, so yum.

We went out to play a bit of mini golf & have a few… too many cocktails… Haha we went at happy hour & I promised I’d treat him to some drinks so we had to have more than one. They even put a sparkler in his drink 😍🍹

We then went out for dinner in the evening & had some lovely food at a place called monkeys & few more drinks of course πŸ™„ they literally had the best cocktails ever. If you know me you know I love cocktails so that is a bold statement…

Sam says: ‘I’m not a big one for celebrating my birthday but Caitlin made this such a special one I couldn’t not enjoy it. From the effort of taking cakes and balloons (sacrificing her luggage allowance for makeup & products) to making sure we did something she knew I’d enjoy and she probably wouldn’t. Had a great week away in Tenerife but it wouldn’t matter where in the world I was or what we were doing I know it would have been extra special with Caitlin πŸ’•’

He really wasn’t looking forward to his birthday, not that he’s old.. Even though he thinks he is πŸ™ˆ  so I tried my hardest to make it fun ⛳️

Boyfriend tag; this will be fun! β€οΈβ€οΈ

Going to be super cute & cringey today, but I feel like now that I have been blogging for a year, I would let my boyfriend really join in & realise what it is that I am doing. My birthday; the pigs edgefield, holt πŸΎπŸŽ‚

When asked what I wanted to do for my birthday I knew in an instant. Ever since I had found this place I had been itching to go. Sam literally booked this back in March πŸ™ˆ if you’re anything like me you will LOVE this place.

As soon as we arrived I instantly felt relaxed. The place is so welcoming & so are the staff. When we checked in the lady couldn’t have been anymore helpful. She booked us a table for the evening & a slot to use the hot tub the following morning. We didn’t even realise we could do that, plus it was free too. Which was a nice surprise.

The room

We booked an original spa room which I was more than happy about 😍 the bathroom was stunning with marble tiles, a drench shower 🚿 & some luxury toiletries. I used the shower on the morning we left & for a bath lover I was pleased πŸ˜‚  the bed was massive!! Really comfy too. A wall mounted tv in front of the bed if you wanted a cosy night with a film. Plus tea, coffee, hot choc & bottled water. Then it gets to the good bit.. The dual bath tub with tv & the sauna. I mean your own sauna? What more could you want?! There was even a little candle by the bath πŸ•― outside there was a firepit with logs, fire lighters, matches & newspaper! Even blankets to wrap up in when it gets chilly. They really have thought of everything. There were plenty of towels & robes too. I think the floor was heated too so it can still be enjoyed in the winter months.

The extras

The little added touches always make an experience complete. So the rooms didn’t have their own fridges etc which then meant we had our own fridge in the corridor our room was   down. I think we shared it with 4/5 other rooms. The fridge had milk, soft drinks etc in it. Then on the side was a biscuit barrel, these were sooo yummy, lemon sweets galore, marshmallows for toasting by the fire & sticks too πŸ’πŸ½ plus sauna oil to help yourself to. In the cupboards were more logs for the fire, games if you fancied playing a game during your stay too… πŸ™„yeah, no comment on that one.

The food

Our evening meal was delicious. We had four iffits to share for a starter, whitebait, gin cured salmon, bacon & Cromer crab cake. So yum. Even though it took me a little while to actually eat the whitebait πŸ™ˆ  for the main I had ham hock with mash & roasted veggies. I definitely couldn’t eat it all there was sooo much. Sam had battered fish & chips, which looked tasty.. Didn’t get to try that as Sam demolished his πŸ™Š we both had a few drinks with it too, but the dessert we had to give a miss as we were both so full.. Breakfast was again, perfect. I had smoked salmon & scrambled eggs. Sam wanted the same but I had the last of the salmon, sorry babe πŸ™ˆ  so he had kedgeree, which is haddock & poached egg. Was actually really tasty πŸ˜‹ they also had loads of nice yoghurts & bits that you could help yourself to. Look at my cute little tea cosy 🐷

The experience

When we arrived the first thing we did was have a few drinks at the bar, because it was my birthday so why not? 🍾  lovely atmosphere & reasonably priced too πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ we then decided to order a smoothie to be brought to our room, which were alcohol based. I had ‘tropigal’ which was coconut, banana & Malibu 🍌 & Sam had ‘pigs nickers’ which was chocolate & peanut butter with baileys 🍫 we decided to get straight in the bath, I did bring a bath bomb with me which was one Sam got me for my birthday. It smelt sooo good. We drank these whilst we relaxed in the tub watching tv. Got a liiiiittle bit carried away & forgot the time. So then we both started to get ready for our meal.

Like I’ve already said the dinner was amazing, so I won’t waffle on too much. But if you ever go you MUST have the ham hock. Delicious πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ we had by this time had a few too many to drink πŸ™„

We decided to grab a load of goodies from the cupboard, so mainly biscuits & marshmallows πŸ˜‚ Sam was getting the fire going whilst I set the sauna up, which took 20 minutes to heat up. I opened a bottle of prosecco for us to continue to celebrate. The fire was a bit of a disaster… πŸ”₯ we just ended up smelling of smoke, so we gave up & took our drinks into the sauna! Hot hot hot πŸ’¦ we then got back in the tub & watched a movie. We were both knackered after a hard day of relaxing πŸ˜‚

The following morning we had our breakfast. So anyone who knows me & Sam will know we love food, we love it that much we were the first ones up for breakfast πŸ™„β˜•οΈ  after breakfast we went through to the hot tub & had a lovely time chatting away to each other. It can’t get much better than that on a Monday morning. . I didn’t want to leave the place was so good.

Has anybody else ever been here? I’d love to know your thoughts & how your stay went.

Caitlin xo✨

Ps. I bought my dog some posh sweets, chicken & rice sticks πŸΆπŸ’–

Birmingham; cocktails galore πŸΉπŸΈ

So we spent the bank holiday in Birmingham, just enjoying some time to ourselves. Whenever we go out we never both get to have a drink so we thought we’d have a treat.

To start this off we (I say we, I mean I) booked a hotel on booking.com. I looove this site!! It was an absolute bargain at Β£59! The hotel was like a 10 minute walk to the shops… perfect πŸ‘ŒπŸ½ so as soon as we arrived we walked in. The hotel was called pentahotel, it literally looked so good. For Β£59 you could not complain. The bed was comfy, the shower was lovely & the room was a good size for a short stay πŸ‘πŸ½ we had a drink in the hotel before we went out for dinner & I have to say it was quite pricey, but it did have a lot of good drinks. It also had anatomicals toiletries 😍 that literally made my stay πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚ & of course they came home with me.

We went to the bullring when we arrived in Birmingham to do some window shopping, but decided that we were too hot, so we started having some drinks early on in the day… πŸ™„ it was bank holiday after all & the sun was shining. We had a drink in all bar one to start with which was sooo yummy. I had a pornstar martini & Sam had a cider. Both were so nice! We love this place 🍹 we also had some lunch in a place called burritos, you’ll never guess what they sell… πŸŒ―πŸ™Š  really tasty & I had never heard of it before but it was fairly busy.

In the evening we had booked our meal at an Italian restaurant called cielo. Never heard of this place either, but we love Italian food so I knew we would enjoy it. We had a 3 course meal each & an alcoholic drink. Guess what I had, another cocktail, this time it was a Cosmo though πŸ’πŸ½πŸΈ it came to Β£82 including the service charge, which isn’t too bad for a city I didn’t think. Plus it was super tasty πŸ˜‹

To end the evening we had some more cocktails in all bar one & a cute little place called pitcher & piano along the canal. It was really pretty! We literally just enjoyed time to ourselves rabbiting on & not having to worry about time. If you ever visit Birmingham you have to go to pitcher & piano as its just the cutest place to sit outside.

What did you get up to this weekend?
