Blogging; Meet Pau πŸ’žΒ

Paulina is another girl I chat to daily so I’m so pleased you’ll all get to know her better too. She’s a Mexican beauty living in Scotland, so her Instagram feed is goals
What made you decide to start blogging?

So I decided to create my own blog because after years and years of reading other people’s blogs I just really wanted to have my own little creative space in the internet. I also wanted to share my opinions, reviews and ideas about all the things that I love!
Do you having a blogging niche? Or do you just write about whatever you enjoy?

I don’t think I have a niche as theres a lot of things I love to talk about! I usually blog about fashion, makeup, skincare products and lifestyle things like travel and I want to start writing fitness posts as well as this is a massive part of my life. And of course I have been writing so much wedding content as I’m getting married in December this year
Who would you say are your blogging inspirations?

I absolutely love Victoria from inthefrow she’s just wow incredible and such an inspiration as she has managed to grow her brand into a massive thing! Also love Lydia elise millen
How long have you been blogging?

Not too long, started in 2017 and I’m not going to lie I haven’t been blogging as much recently as life just gets in the way but I absolutely love it!
What is your favourite social media platform for sharing your blog?

I use Twitter lots and just share it with my other blogger friends as well!

Any tips for new bloggers?

Just write about whatever you want and don’t compare yourself with anyone else! It’s all about having fun and being creative ❀

Great tips Pau ☺️ I didn’t realise you hadn’t been blogging for long! I definitely think you should do some fitness posts too

Blogging; Meet Soph πŸ‘‹πŸ½

Lets all say hey to Soph today! *Hello friends! I’m Soph from soph.creates* Soph is an everything blogger from soph.creates. She likes lounging around on the beach, puppies, and video games. Sophs favourite social media platform (generally) is Instagram. But is that what she loves to use for her blog? Who knows….

What made you decide to start blogging?

I started blogging back in my childhood bedroom when I decided that it was time I took my diary writing public. I always had a fascination with documenting my life and being able to go back in time and read about all the things I was doing that day and I also loved to share. Blogging was really the only next logical step.

Do you having a blogging niche? Or do you just write about whatever you enjoy?

I definitely don’t have a blogging niche and I find it super hard to stick to one. Some days I’m a travel blogger, other days I’m a food blogger, and other days beauty and fashion. I tend to write about what I enjoy and these days it’s more about using my blog as an outlet to feel like I’m not just “working for the man” but also engaging in my hobbies.

Who would you say are your blogging inspirations?

I don’t really have blogging inspirations because my blog is pretty personal to me. It’s not really about getting to where anyone else has gotten, or writing in the same style as someone else. For me, my blog is for me and if people enjoy reading it then awesome.

How long have you been blogging?

Counting all the blogs I had as a kid? Probably about 8 years now! On my current blog, soph.creates it’s been about 3 and a half years.

What is your favourite social media platform for sharing your blog?

Twitter! There’s something about Twitter that I’m finally starting to understand and I find the community on there to be great. All the bloggers I interact with are so genuine and lovely. They’re also super encouraging when it comes to writing and it pushes me to keep it up.

Any tips for new bloggers?

Set yourself some goals and work towards them. Those don’t have to be follower counts or pageviews. If anything they should be things that you want to gain for yourself rather than anyone else. Blogging for me is a way to become more comfortable with talking openly and sharing things I find important and my goals these days are things like “write two blog posts a week” or “spend an hour taking photos and editing them” – because those are the things that make me feel the most accomplished rather than having 10k followers (even though that would be nice!)

I love the tips! Setting goals like that is far better than goals to do with numbers & stats! I cannot believe how long you have been blogging, that is amazing 😍

Bloggers; Meet Luce πŸ’œ

Today we’re meeting Lucy. Hello lovely πŸ‘‹πŸ½   Isn’t she such a stunner?!

What made you decide to start blogging?

I started blogging because I had to do blogging modules as part of my PR degree and one day I just decided to create my own personal blog. The first day I pushed it out was very scary!

Do you having a blogging niche? Or do you just write about whatever you enjoy?

I started out blogging about beauty, fashion and uni life. Which has now evolved into lifestyle, fitness, events and food. I’d describe myself as a β€˜lifestyle blogger’, and essentially all my categories are a huge part of my own lifestyle!

Who would you say are your blogging inspirations?

I’m so bad at reading other people’s blog outside out of work (I work in PR and basically sit and read blogs most of the day!) But I tend to support my fellow bloggers more through Instagram.

How long have you been blogging?

I’ve been blogging for almost 4 years now which is crazy!

What is your favourite social media platform for sharing your blog?
I prefer sharing my content on Instagram, as I like sharing the images I use in my blogs. But I think twitter and Pinterest are much better for generating traffic!

Any tips for new bloggers?

Buy your own domain straight away! Just for SEO benefits and brands and agencies are more likely to work with you. Also use your area hashtags on twitter and insta (eg. #leedsbloggers) it’ll let PRs know where you live, meaning you’re more likely to get invited to events!

Thanks Luce for sharing this with everyone! I’d love to have a job like yours, completely jealous 😍 Plus… I didn’t even think about the area hashtags so thanks for the tip πŸ’πŸ½

Blogging; Meet Alice πŸŽ€

It’s now Thursday & we’re meeting Alice today! Alice is a beauty therapist by day & a beauty blogger by night πŸ‘‹πŸ½

What made you decide to start blogging?

The community. It looked like such a friendly and cheerful place online to be a part of. When I first started blogging, my blog was more about make up and what recommendations I would suggest as this is what I loved to do with my friends, it was just an add on to that.

Do you having a blogging niche? Or do you just write about whatever you enjoy?

When I first started blogging, my blog was mostly beauty, however in the last year or so I have grown a love for photgraphy so now do a little bit more travel posts. Overall I write what I wanna write and what I enjoy the most.

Who would you say are your blogging inspirations?

I have a few and are always finding new bloggers that inspire me. At the moment I love Scarlett London, allchloerose both of these girls have grogeous blogs and also instagrams, I find myself in a daze reading!!

Someone that really does inspire both online and offline would be Louise Pentland.

How long have you been blogging?

I have been on and off blogging for around 3 years now.

What is your favourite social media platform for sharing your blog?

I love twitter and instagram. I feel like I know where I stand with it!! You also have that more personal touch with comments and likes.

Any tips for new bloggers?

Write about what you love and enjoy.

Thanks so much Alice! I completely agree, Twitter & Instagram are what I love to use as well. The community is sooo lovely isn’t it. I really enjoyed getting to you know you more ☺️

Blogging; Meet Emma S πŸ‘‹πŸ½

I already know Emma pretty well, so let’s see what I learn now πŸ˜‰ we chat pretty much daily so I can tell you she is a lovely girl! Her blog is beautiful & her Twitter comments are definitely relatable πŸ˜‚

What made you decide to start blogging?
I started about 4 years ago, and I was just scrolling the old interwebs, as you do, and found some blogs I just couldn’t stop reading! I fell in love with them and the idea of having your own little place to write about whatever you like. (I started mainly doing beauty but I so travel and lifestyle too now!) I looked into it and started a month or so after being addicted to those other ones!

Do you having a blogging niche? Or do you just write about whatever you enjoy?
So I started doing beauty because makeup (and underwear to be fair!) are definitely my biggest obsessions, but I feel like my blog kind of grew with me. What I write now is mainly in travel, lifestyle and beauty though! I feel like its good to keep it fairly relative because I’m not sure my followers would be too interested if I suddenly started talking about space! (But who knows, maybe that’ll be my new thing πŸ˜‰)

Who would you say are your blogging inspirations?

  • Kayleigh Johnson (couture girl) was one of the first I followed, I love her style and pictures, and she has a style of writing where she just feels like your friend. Her instagram is unreeeeal too!
  • Em Sheldon (Em Talks) is another I’m obsessed with, she writes about so many different topics, but she has some really down to earth posts about life which have been really helpful to me! She’s such a lovely girl and will always have a chat with you too!

How long have you been blogging?
I seem to be prematurely answering everything haha! About 4 years now!

What is your favourite social media platform for sharing your blog?
I love instagram, although all those changes did make it less enjoyable let’s be real! But that – especially insta stories definitely gets the most engagement for me and I really enjoy spending time on there most days.

Any tips for new bloggers?

When you start blogging you’ll most likely be so inspired, and have so much to write about, but when you blog long enough that love for it comes and goes. I would say push past it because you’ll always come back to that place of inspiration and it really can be so rewarding – you meet so many lovely people through doing it too! Definitely try and write about what you’re most passionate about, don’t go for what you think is a money maker or a freebie zone, because as much as there is room for everyone here(!) blogging is saturated and you’ll lose love quickly if you’re not passionate about what you’re doing. I would say to anyone debating it, just go for it! Use a free hosting platform (blogger or free WordPress) first, and then see how you go before paying too much for anything – as it can get expensive! But enjoy over everything!

Thanks Emma! I love your insta stories too πŸ˜‚ plus keep up the good work & stay sassy. We need more about underwear from you girly!

Blogging; Meet Gracie πŸ‘‹πŸ½Β

Today’s blogger is Gracie. Hey lovely! Gracie is a super mummy & a makeup lover! Her Instagram feed is full of food, makeup & a good selfie πŸ’πŸ½

What made you start blogging?
Boredom mainly haha, it was something I had discussed many many years ago like 9 or something years ago and kinda gutted I didn’t start then. But I sort of braved it when I became a mother, and things started to get a little lonely and boring. I did it as an escape as a way to talk about all the girly things (makeup mostly) I can’t talk to my son about haha!

Do you have a blogging niche? Or do you just write about whatever you enjoy?
Hmmm, this is a tough one for me as I do write about whatever I enjoy or want to write about, but majority of that does come under a beauty niche, BUT… at the same time I do write about other things! Bit of both really, my blogs just my interests and things I want to write about.

Who would you say are your blogging inspirations?
I mean Victoria who writes In The Frow is just #goals right? Shes right up there for sure. But I take my inspiration from everyone who blogs and enjoys it and seem genuine in there posts ☺️

How long have you been blogging?
Since December 2015, but I see my first ever blog as a practice one. In June 2017 I changed over to my current blog as sort of a fresh start and enjoy every minute of it ☺️

What is your favourite social media platform for sharing your blog?
Google Plus I find is a really good place to share your blog as they have so many ‘communities’ you can post into. Twitter also is a fab platform for sharing content.

Any tips for new bloggers?
Yes, Do Not Focus on numbers or your photography skills (mine are still so badπŸ™ˆ) just enjoy and be yourself in what you write!

I cannot believe you’ve had two blogs Gracie, that’s so good. I wish I had started sooner too. Thanks for the great tips for newbie bloggers too πŸ’πŸ½

Blogging; Meet Meg πŸ‘‹πŸ½

Let’s all say hey to meg! *hey meg* πŸ™Š Meg is a lifestyle blogger & a food enthusiast (likewise Meg, love food) she is also a surfer & a soon to be author! How exciting!!

What made you decide to start blogging?
It’s actually quite a long story. Basically… I was about one sleep away from dying to put it simply. I have always been very health focused, I’ve been a surfer since I was 5/6 so being healthy has always been such an important part of my life. My lung collapsed but no one picked it up as I was “too healthy” for it to happen. The night it was picked up was the night I was rushed to hospital with a suspected blood clot on my lung, but it turned out to be a fully collapsed lung which had been down for such a long time that it had fused to my diaphragm and part of it basically died, which meant I had been living off one lung for about a month. I had to have emergency major surgery which was involved having half of my lung removed. I then had to go through very traumatic things after with blood drains etc etc so my anxiety got set off and went through the roof!
Anyway, fast forward a few months and I started to feel more myself but I wanted to share my story as apparently it was extremely rare (1 case in every 6/7 years!) and it was a great way of helping me cope with and process what I had been through – hence the name “Respirare” means “Breathe” in Italian (it sounded nicer than the British one!)

Do you have a blogging niche or do you just write about whatever you enjoy?
I never really had a particular thing in mind to blog about, and I never dreamt that it would have become what it is now 12 months later and I’ll always be grateful for the support the community gives me. I’d say it’s mostly lifestyle and travel – I enjoy sharing stories from my trips to other countries and new experiences, I also enjoy reading and I’m trying to do a few more book reviews.
I’d like to think that there is something on my blog for everyone to enjoy.

Who would you say are your blogging inspirations?
Wow! This is a really hard one. Within the blogging world (twitter) I’d say @MaudMpp and @HelloBexa – but with YouTube I LOVE Sarah’s Day as she seems to be my better looking double who lives in Australia – we have the same health “issues” and choices etc, so it’s great to watch what she does to keep herself as healthy as possible.
How long have you been blogging?

It’s coming up to one year in April! I cant believe how fast it’s gone.

What is your favourite social media platform for sharing your blog?
Definitely Twitter! I tend to keep Instagram slightly more private, and I feel like Twitter is a better place to reach more people and really interact with them and their content. I do have a Facebook page but always forget to keep it updated! I have a bloglovin’ profile, and I’m going to start a Pinterest!

Any tips for new bloggers?

  •  Take your time
  •  Always be true to yourself and never forget why you started
  •  Only share what YOU want to share
  •  Give support and you will receive it

I feel like I know so much more about Meg now! Thankyou so much for sharing. I am sorry to hear about your health complications. What a truly strong girl you are! You’ve only been blogging a few months & you’re doing fabulously. I wish you every success in the future with your blog too.
