Lifestyle; girls trip to Manchester πŸΈπŸ°

Before I get in to this post I would like to thank Alice for making me laugh & constantly smile for two days straight!! Also… For putting up with all my moods πŸ˜‚ especially when I was hangry!

We had a fab few days away for a little girly break! We went to Manchester as we wanted to go to friendsfest. If you have never been you really should it was so much fun! We started the break the right way with a few drinks on the train… I’m such a lightweight I was yawning away after a couple πŸ˜‚ honestly though I needed it.

The hotel was fabulous for the price! We paid Β£68 each for two nights. To me that’s a bargain. It was in the centre & just look at how funky it was!! The bed was comfy (actually had the best night sleep I’ve had in ages) & we even had breakfast included. We were literally in a croissant coma… Oops!

I don’t want to go to into what happened at friendsfest as I’ll do that in another post. But we had the best day ever! My cheeks hurt from smiling so much. If you’re a friends fan I would highly recommend it. Could we be any happier?!

We ate out that evening & had a few drinks too 🍸 we went to the slug & lettuce, drank a few pornstar martinis between the two of us… πŸ™„ & had some food too obviously! Ha! When we got back to the hotel we put on Celebs go dating & had like a big girly sleepover with another couple of drinks & lots of nibbles while we were tucked up in our beds πŸ˜‚ we’re either big kids or old ladies!

On our last day it was bucketing it down, but we walked so much our feet hurt πŸ™ˆ did a little bit of shopping in the city & then made our way to have afternoon tea. The venue was stunning, we went to cloud 23 which had incredible views. The afternoon tea itself was delicious too!

Literally we did soooo much in a small amount of time, but we had such a good girly getaway!!

Travel; Rhodes June 2019 πŸŒ΄β˜€οΈ

OH MY GOD ITS BEEN MONTHS BUT I AM BAAAACK!!!

We booked this holiday way back in May 2018 as we weren’t going away in 2018 & I wanted something to look forward to.

We booked to go back to the same place in Rhodes that we went to in 2017. We loved it so much & there was a beautiful restaurant nearby that I was itching to visit again! We stayed in a hotel called Rhodos Horizon Resort. The staff are super friendly & the hotel itself is really clean & in a beautiful location with stunning views.

I found that this time I wasn’t as good at sitting & doing nothing so we did do a bit more exploring this time around. One day we walked all around Rhodes town, which is where we stayed. Another day we walked into the next little town, Ialysos & played some mini golf. I don’t know about you, but I just love mini golf πŸ˜‚ I’m terrible at it though. It’s safe to say that Sam won!

I did get to go back to the beautiful restaurant there too, Cavo Italiano, which is so good. It’s beautiful, the food tastes amazing & it’s such good value for money too! We stayed & had some drinks in the cocktail bar too, Cavo Tango. We did also have some shisha haha….. We’re not smokers at all but thought we’d have some fun before we get old πŸ˜‚

This time we ate in the a la carte restaurant twice. We even tipped the waiter one night πŸ˜‚ Sam was a little drunk I might add πŸ™ˆ it’s just nice to be served your dinner & take your time, rather than the buffet every night. I did also find some cats too, so they obviously shared my dinner πŸ™„  but I would highly recommend it if you stay at this hotel, it’s lovely.

We also spent more time at the beach this year, rather than by the pool. The beach bar was super cute & we added to the cutest little rock display.

Have you ever been to Rhodes? I adore Greece but I’d love your suggestions of where we should go next. Are you going away this year?

Blogging; Meet Della βœˆοΈ

Today we’re going to get to know Della a bit more. From the name of her blog I can guess she loves Nutella πŸ˜‰ but she has a lovely insta feed (I love a holiday snap)

What made you decide to start blogging?

I’ve always had a massive passion for writing and wanted a space to show my creativity. I’d already been a big fan of makeup gurus on YouTube and from that I discovered people’s blogs. After reading a few I thought, I’d love to do it – took the plunge and 5 years later never looked back.

Do you have a blogging niche? Or do you just write about whatever you enjoy?

I think this is a tricky one! When I first started out it was mainly beauty and a bit of lifestyle but as my blog has grown over the years, I moved the focus more to travel as it’s become a huge passion of mine. I still post about beauty, lifestyle and books as well.

Who would you say are your blogging inspirations?

There are so many blogging inspirations! From the big names like Zoella and Louise Pentland to my blogger friends who started at the same time as me. Every blogger inspires me as they’re sharing their thoughts with the world and doing something they love.

How long have you been blogging?

I’ve been blogging since I was 16 in early 2013 so it’s coming on to 6 years now!

What is your favourite social media platform for sharing your blog?

Twitter is definitely the best platform! I get to engage with loads of bloggers, talk in the community and share tips with everyone.

Any tips for new bloggers?

Write what you love not what you think will be popular as you’ll find a niche audience for it – and enjoy it more. Engage with community and keep going, as blogging can be tough at times. But it’s the most rewarding thing in the world – I love it and hope I never stop.

You’re right Della, blogging can be tough! I completely agree with the engaging tip. Plus I love the name of your blog 😍😍

Blogging; Meet Pau πŸ’žΒ

Paulina is another girl I chat to daily so I’m so pleased you’ll all get to know her better too. She’s a Mexican beauty living in Scotland, so her Instagram feed is goals
What made you decide to start blogging?

So I decided to create my own blog because after years and years of reading other people’s blogs I just really wanted to have my own little creative space in the internet. I also wanted to share my opinions, reviews and ideas about all the things that I love!
Do you having a blogging niche? Or do you just write about whatever you enjoy?

I don’t think I have a niche as theres a lot of things I love to talk about! I usually blog about fashion, makeup, skincare products and lifestyle things like travel and I want to start writing fitness posts as well as this is a massive part of my life. And of course I have been writing so much wedding content as I’m getting married in December this year
Who would you say are your blogging inspirations?

I absolutely love Victoria from inthefrow she’s just wow incredible and such an inspiration as she has managed to grow her brand into a massive thing! Also love Lydia elise millen
How long have you been blogging?

Not too long, started in 2017 and I’m not going to lie I haven’t been blogging as much recently as life just gets in the way but I absolutely love it!
What is your favourite social media platform for sharing your blog?

I use Twitter lots and just share it with my other blogger friends as well!

Any tips for new bloggers?

Just write about whatever you want and don’t compare yourself with anyone else! It’s all about having fun and being creative ❀

Great tips Pau ☺️ I didn’t realise you hadn’t been blogging for long! I definitely think you should do some fitness posts too

Blogging; Meet Soph πŸ‘‹πŸ½

Lets all say hey to Soph today! *Hello friends! I’m Soph from soph.creates* Soph is an everything blogger from soph.creates. She likes lounging around on the beach, puppies, and video games. Sophs favourite social media platform (generally) is Instagram. But is that what she loves to use for her blog? Who knows….

What made you decide to start blogging?

I started blogging back in my childhood bedroom when I decided that it was time I took my diary writing public. I always had a fascination with documenting my life and being able to go back in time and read about all the things I was doing that day and I also loved to share. Blogging was really the only next logical step.

Do you having a blogging niche? Or do you just write about whatever you enjoy?

I definitely don’t have a blogging niche and I find it super hard to stick to one. Some days I’m a travel blogger, other days I’m a food blogger, and other days beauty and fashion. I tend to write about what I enjoy and these days it’s more about using my blog as an outlet to feel like I’m not just “working for the man” but also engaging in my hobbies.

Who would you say are your blogging inspirations?

I don’t really have blogging inspirations because my blog is pretty personal to me. It’s not really about getting to where anyone else has gotten, or writing in the same style as someone else. For me, my blog is for me and if people enjoy reading it then awesome.

How long have you been blogging?

Counting all the blogs I had as a kid? Probably about 8 years now! On my current blog, soph.creates it’s been about 3 and a half years.

What is your favourite social media platform for sharing your blog?

Twitter! There’s something about Twitter that I’m finally starting to understand and I find the community on there to be great. All the bloggers I interact with are so genuine and lovely. They’re also super encouraging when it comes to writing and it pushes me to keep it up.

Any tips for new bloggers?

Set yourself some goals and work towards them. Those don’t have to be follower counts or pageviews. If anything they should be things that you want to gain for yourself rather than anyone else. Blogging for me is a way to become more comfortable with talking openly and sharing things I find important and my goals these days are things like “write two blog posts a week” or “spend an hour taking photos and editing them” – because those are the things that make me feel the most accomplished rather than having 10k followers (even though that would be nice!)

I love the tips! Setting goals like that is far better than goals to do with numbers & stats! I cannot believe how long you have been blogging, that is amazing 😍

Blogging; Meet Alice πŸŽ€

It’s now Thursday & we’re meeting Alice today! Alice is a beauty therapist by day & a beauty blogger by night πŸ‘‹πŸ½

What made you decide to start blogging?

The community. It looked like such a friendly and cheerful place online to be a part of. When I first started blogging, my blog was more about make up and what recommendations I would suggest as this is what I loved to do with my friends, it was just an add on to that.

Do you having a blogging niche? Or do you just write about whatever you enjoy?

When I first started blogging, my blog was mostly beauty, however in the last year or so I have grown a love for photgraphy so now do a little bit more travel posts. Overall I write what I wanna write and what I enjoy the most.

Who would you say are your blogging inspirations?

I have a few and are always finding new bloggers that inspire me. At the moment I love Scarlett London, allchloerose both of these girls have grogeous blogs and also instagrams, I find myself in a daze reading!!

Someone that really does inspire both online and offline would be Louise Pentland.

How long have you been blogging?

I have been on and off blogging for around 3 years now.

What is your favourite social media platform for sharing your blog?

I love twitter and instagram. I feel like I know where I stand with it!! You also have that more personal touch with comments and likes.

Any tips for new bloggers?

Write about what you love and enjoy.

Thanks so much Alice! I completely agree, Twitter & Instagram are what I love to use as well. The community is sooo lovely isn’t it. I really enjoyed getting to you know you more ☺️

Blogging; Meet Meg πŸ‘‹πŸ½

Let’s all say hey to meg! *hey meg* πŸ™Š Meg is a lifestyle blogger & a food enthusiast (likewise Meg, love food) she is also a surfer & a soon to be author! How exciting!!

What made you decide to start blogging?
It’s actually quite a long story. Basically… I was about one sleep away from dying to put it simply. I have always been very health focused, I’ve been a surfer since I was 5/6 so being healthy has always been such an important part of my life. My lung collapsed but no one picked it up as I was “too healthy” for it to happen. The night it was picked up was the night I was rushed to hospital with a suspected blood clot on my lung, but it turned out to be a fully collapsed lung which had been down for such a long time that it had fused to my diaphragm and part of it basically died, which meant I had been living off one lung for about a month. I had to have emergency major surgery which was involved having half of my lung removed. I then had to go through very traumatic things after with blood drains etc etc so my anxiety got set off and went through the roof!
Anyway, fast forward a few months and I started to feel more myself but I wanted to share my story as apparently it was extremely rare (1 case in every 6/7 years!) and it was a great way of helping me cope with and process what I had been through – hence the name “Respirare” means “Breathe” in Italian (it sounded nicer than the British one!)

Do you have a blogging niche or do you just write about whatever you enjoy?
I never really had a particular thing in mind to blog about, and I never dreamt that it would have become what it is now 12 months later and I’ll always be grateful for the support the community gives me. I’d say it’s mostly lifestyle and travel – I enjoy sharing stories from my trips to other countries and new experiences, I also enjoy reading and I’m trying to do a few more book reviews.
I’d like to think that there is something on my blog for everyone to enjoy.

Who would you say are your blogging inspirations?
Wow! This is a really hard one. Within the blogging world (twitter) I’d say @MaudMpp and @HelloBexa – but with YouTube I LOVE Sarah’s Day as she seems to be my better looking double who lives in Australia – we have the same health “issues” and choices etc, so it’s great to watch what she does to keep herself as healthy as possible.
How long have you been blogging?

It’s coming up to one year in April! I cant believe how fast it’s gone.

What is your favourite social media platform for sharing your blog?
Definitely Twitter! I tend to keep Instagram slightly more private, and I feel like Twitter is a better place to reach more people and really interact with them and their content. I do have a Facebook page but always forget to keep it updated! I have a bloglovin’ profile, and I’m going to start a Pinterest!

Any tips for new bloggers?

  •  Take your time
  •  Always be true to yourself and never forget why you started
  •  Only share what YOU want to share
  •  Give support and you will receive it

I feel like I know so much more about Meg now! Thankyou so much for sharing. I am sorry to hear about your health complications. What a truly strong girl you are! You’ve only been blogging a few months & you’re doing fabulously. I wish you every success in the future with your blog too.

Lifestyle; girls night πŸΉ

We had a fabulous girly evening this weekend just gone. A lady that I work with owns a little beach shack in snettisham, which is about a 15 minute drive from where we live so it’s super close. I asked if we could stay for a night (I stayed on my birthday 2 years ago as well) & she kindly let us πŸ’πŸ½πŸ‘

When I say a shack, it’s like a cute little home. I could happily live here 😍

There were 4 of us girls & it has 2 double bedrooms so it was perfect. We got some alcohol, some food & brought our comfiest clothes πŸ™Š we played some funny games, one where you can’t say fuck? Have you heard of it?! It was brilliant πŸ˜‚ & drinking games too of course. We blasted the old ‘tunes’ that we used to love when we were teenagers & probably annoyed the neighbours… πŸ™„

It’s so pretty here, this is what we woke up to!! 😍 I mean, really, can it get any better?! Everyone around us were out on their canoes in the lake.

What did you get up to this weekend?

Lifestyle; we had time off β›±β˜€οΈ

Myself & Sam had last week off work so I thought I’d share with you how we spent our week! Sorry to bore you all..

Monday;

We literally got up & went to the gym for 6.30am, yes we’re nuts! We then got home had breakfast & started doing some jobs! I literally did like 3 loads of washing & ironing. Plus I mopped the floors & hoovered! We had our headboard being delivered that day & the coffee table for the lounge. Sam built the table & put the new headboard on, because he’s a babe… Duh!

Tuesday;

I got up, had a doctors appointment (nothing major just a pill check) went to the gym & then popped to the bank. Sam waited at home for the BT engineer to come as we now have BT internet & TV. It wasn’t all successful as the you view box needs some sort of adaptor, yeah I’m not that tech savvy, sorry guys πŸ™ˆ we had a few more deliveries coming that day so we had to wait in.

Wednesday;

We had a tesco delivery first thing at 8am so we got ourselves ready whilst waiting for that. We then went into town, got ourselves some more plates, a doormat, toiletries etc. Sam then had a physio appointment & after that we made our way to the coast! We stopped in Wells, had a drink in the sunshine too of course! 🍸 We did have a few games in the arcades too, I’m a big kid really! On the way home we went to Thornham & stopped at Eric’s for fish & chips. Honestly the tastiest fish & chips I’ve ever had!!

Thursday;

Again, started our day at the gym πŸ’ͺ🏽 then we took Sam’s mum to an appointment later that morning & whilst we waited for her to finish we went & had some lunch! We visited a place called the lean pantry co, it’s a place that has a lot of gluten free, vegan option kinds of meals! Brilliant for me being dairy free πŸ’πŸ½ look how yum this was!

Friday;

We spent today doing jobs around the house, washing, cleaning & ironing etc. Sam washed the cars, because he’s honestly the best boyfriend ever! We then nipped back to his mum & dads so he could watch football, of course I spent my evening with the cat on my lap

Saturday & Sunday;

On Saturday morning we did a few jobs before I decided to have the most amazing bubble bath & completely pamper myself! Sam went to watch his team play football as he’s got a knee injury at the moment so is unable to play bless him. We the went to a wedding reception that evening to celebrate his friends wedding. We didn’t get a photo together 😩 but we had so much fun. A few too many cocktails were had that evening.

Sunday we weren’t hungover, just knackered. We had a next delivery come so Sam then built those… We now have nesting tables & a shoe cupboard! πŸ™ŒπŸ½

How are you spending your summer? Are you having time at home or going away?

Lifestyle; beauty of an afternoon-tea β˜•οΈπŸ°

I had such a fab day in London with Lucy πŸ’πŸ½ I thought I’d share it with you all! It was literally so hot I had no clue what to wear or do with myself though.

We started the journey the right way by opening a bottle of prosecco on the train… Yes it has to be done! Even the lady sat opposite said she wished she was joining in πŸ˜‚ we went straight down to the tube to get to Soho for some cocktails when we were greeted by a man who wanted to take a photo of my feet/shoes… Each to their own, I was just glad I had painted my toe nails that morning!

The place we wanted to go to for cocktails was closed for an event so we found somewhere else & we were actually super happy with it! Gin cocktails, I mean can you go wrong with that? The barman let me spray my own cocktail too 😍 how cute are these? We had two of these before we made our way to the afternoon tea… Oops 🍹🍸 this was a place called graphic by the way!

The beauty & the beast afternoon tea at the Kensington was absolutely perfect!! Usually when I have afternoon tea there is sooo much food I can’t manage to eat it all but I literally demolished this! Everything was spot on, even the staff who brought it over were so good. Lucy had a gluten free one & they literally got it just right, everything was done to the same quality! It cost Β£42pp & I would say for the experience itself it was so worth it.

On our way back we went back to the place we originally wanted to go to for cocktails & had another…because you can never have too many, especially on a Thursday πŸ˜‚ so these were at the blind pig, if you’ve never heard of it, it’s upstairs from the social eating house! They have so many to choose from & they’re all like childhood book themed! Lucy had the honey pot & I had the BFG.

I would recommend any of these to do if you’re going to london! Have you visited any of these?
