Lifestyle; my leaving do πŸΎπŸ‘‹πŸ½

Oh my god I’ve said it a million times now but I honestly had the best night ever! I swear I made the best friends at work. After working there for almost 9 years it was hard to say goodbye to some people 😩

So so grateful for everyone organising me a fab leaving do too.

We went to prezzo. I was told to be a few minutes late too… Which was so worth it. The effort they went to decorating the table & making it look pretty for me 😍 I had a balloon & a massive bouquet of flowers on the table. Not to mention bags of presents & bottles of prosecco.

One of my colleagues bought some wind up animals, put plasters & bandages on them & a little note asking for me to help them… because they’re injured. That might give away a clue as to what my new job is 😜

We were going to go somewhere else after for some drinks but I think I peaked early… πŸ™„ haha! My food was delicious, as always! And we made our way through plenty of prosecco & cocktails. I don’t think I’ve laughed so much in a long time. Thankyou to everyone again for all chipping in & paying for me as well.

Now this is my favourite photo of the evening. The three musketeers. Loved working with these girls. Genuine friends too πŸ˜¬πŸ˜€

Thanks again everyone at Southgates & the Woottons πŸ’ž

Lifestyle; my birthday! πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰

Oh my goodness, I’m 27… Bloody hell. I am starting to feel it though now.

So my little man really spoilt me. He got me sooo much… I mean who would have thought a kitten could afford & know how to order all this stuff πŸ™„πŸ˜‚

Sam made me breakfast & we went off to the coast as it was a glorious day. We had a good walk & went round the amusements. I totally beat him at bowling too πŸ’πŸ½ we got some yummy doughnuts & treats & a hot chocolate too.

I then finished off my cake & if I say so myself, for a first try I think I did pretty well. Right?! 🍰 I got the topper & the candles from Amazon incase anyone wants to know.

Going back to the gifts I got. I was well & truly spoiled rotten. So many bath bombs, candles & smelly’s! Exactly what I wanted. Plus a fair few bottles of drink, including some yummy unicorn gin which didn’t even last 5 days πŸ˜‚ I had a lovely bunch of flowers & some new lunch boxes as well. Sam also got me some nice adidas trainers.

My mum & nephew then came round for a Chinese for tea.. And to taste the cake I made.Which, might I add, went down very well πŸ’πŸ½  Sam’s mum & dad then joined us for a drink too.

Thanks to everyone who made my day special πŸŽπŸŽ‚

Lifestyle; girls trip to Manchester πŸΈπŸ°

Before I get in to this post I would like to thank Alice for making me laugh & constantly smile for two days straight!! Also… For putting up with all my moods πŸ˜‚ especially when I was hangry!

We had a fab few days away for a little girly break! We went to Manchester as we wanted to go to friendsfest. If you have never been you really should it was so much fun! We started the break the right way with a few drinks on the train… I’m such a lightweight I was yawning away after a couple πŸ˜‚ honestly though I needed it.

The hotel was fabulous for the price! We paid Β£68 each for two nights. To me that’s a bargain. It was in the centre & just look at how funky it was!! The bed was comfy (actually had the best night sleep I’ve had in ages) & we even had breakfast included. We were literally in a croissant coma… Oops!

I don’t want to go to into what happened at friendsfest as I’ll do that in another post. But we had the best day ever! My cheeks hurt from smiling so much. If you’re a friends fan I would highly recommend it. Could we be any happier?!

We ate out that evening & had a few drinks too 🍸 we went to the slug & lettuce, drank a few pornstar martinis between the two of us… πŸ™„ & had some food too obviously! Ha! When we got back to the hotel we put on Celebs go dating & had like a big girly sleepover with another couple of drinks & lots of nibbles while we were tucked up in our beds πŸ˜‚ we’re either big kids or old ladies!

On our last day it was bucketing it down, but we walked so much our feet hurt πŸ™ˆ did a little bit of shopping in the city & then made our way to have afternoon tea. The venue was stunning, we went to cloud 23 which had incredible views. The afternoon tea itself was delicious too!

Literally we did soooo much in a small amount of time, but we had such a good girly getaway!!

Lifestyle; it’s our anniversary! β€οΈ

This weekend we celebrated our 3 year anniversary. I mean 3 years…how?! How has the time gone that fast? πŸ™ˆ  I still remember our first few dates like they were yesterday!

We went out for dinner at one of my favourite restaurants, Market Bistro. It’s actually closing next week, which I am so gutted about so it was definitely a no brainer for where we were going to go for dinner. We had two courses, plus a little tasting dish to start & obviously I had some prosecco 🍾

I love this restaurants sourdough bread…. Literally drooling just thinking about it. All homemade too. I can’t even explain to you how good this food is. So much flavour & so much thought goes into the presentation. Look at my panna cotta 😍

I cooked for Sam & we had a lovely chilled evening in on the Saturday. We watched a film on Netflix & enjoyed some treats πŸ™„ probably too much, but oh well πŸ’πŸ½ if you haven’t watched it, we watched look away. Was actually quite good!

Look at my stunning flowers that Sam had delivered for me!! The florist is actually one of Sam’s friends & honestly she knows me so well. She gets my flowers spot on every time! They’re from Lily Jayne Florist. I bought Sam some cute date night idea cards from not on the high street & Lindt chocolates, which I hope he will share πŸ˜‚

Thanks for another fabulous year Sam! Here’s to many more πŸ’ž

Lifestyle; Pink Parcel collab πŸŽ€

Thankyou so much to pink parcel for gifting me this fabulous box! Who are/what is pink parcel you ask? It’s a subscription box company who are trying to banish any taboos based around your period & help to teach people about periods in an honest way. The box includes products to get you through that dreaded time of the month. Unlike some other subscription boxes, you can cancel anytime too. I have to say, I found this box an absolute life changer this month.

Interested? Have a look on their website & choose which box suits you. They range from Β£5 a month to Β£11 a month. So for Β£5 you will get your ‘needs‘ which are your sanitary products, for Β£8 you get the ‘wants‘ so your treats that you would usually want when you’re on your period & finally for Β£11 you get both ☺️

IN MY PARCEL

I received 4 sections in this box. The for now, for you, for night & for later. Honestly set out beautifully & spot on! I love the little bag that the now section came in. Definitely will be reusing that 😍

For now was a mixture of sanitary towels, some smaller than others. I used these this month when I had my period & honestly was pleasantly surprised. I was a little dubious as I always tend to buy the same brand of sanitary towels. But these were actually really good!

For you was filled with goodies that you want when it’s that time of the month. All the things you crave & the things your skin needs at this point. It was filled with some really good brands, some that I use regularly too.

The section for night was more sanitary towels that were slightly more ‘heavy duty’ πŸ˜‚ you know? A bit bigger for bedtime basically. And the for later section, was just more sanitary towels to get you through your period.

They do have boxes with tampons in too & some that do a mixture of both! I would highly recommend this subscription box. In my opinion most people would spend the same amount each time they have their period on all of these things.

Have you ever heard of this brand? Would you use it?

Travel; Rhodes June 2019 πŸŒ΄β˜€οΈ

OH MY GOD ITS BEEN MONTHS BUT I AM BAAAACK!!!

We booked this holiday way back in May 2018 as we weren’t going away in 2018 & I wanted something to look forward to.

We booked to go back to the same place in Rhodes that we went to in 2017. We loved it so much & there was a beautiful restaurant nearby that I was itching to visit again! We stayed in a hotel called Rhodos Horizon Resort. The staff are super friendly & the hotel itself is really clean & in a beautiful location with stunning views.

I found that this time I wasn’t as good at sitting & doing nothing so we did do a bit more exploring this time around. One day we walked all around Rhodes town, which is where we stayed. Another day we walked into the next little town, Ialysos & played some mini golf. I don’t know about you, but I just love mini golf πŸ˜‚ I’m terrible at it though. It’s safe to say that Sam won!

I did get to go back to the beautiful restaurant there too, Cavo Italiano, which is so good. It’s beautiful, the food tastes amazing & it’s such good value for money too! We stayed & had some drinks in the cocktail bar too, Cavo Tango. We did also have some shisha haha….. We’re not smokers at all but thought we’d have some fun before we get old πŸ˜‚

This time we ate in the a la carte restaurant twice. We even tipped the waiter one night πŸ˜‚ Sam was a little drunk I might add πŸ™ˆ it’s just nice to be served your dinner & take your time, rather than the buffet every night. I did also find some cats too, so they obviously shared my dinner πŸ™„  but I would highly recommend it if you stay at this hotel, it’s lovely.

We also spent more time at the beach this year, rather than by the pool. The beach bar was super cute & we added to the cutest little rock display.

Have you ever been to Rhodes? I adore Greece but I’d love your suggestions of where we should go next. Are you going away this year?

Lifestyle; our Valentine’s Day 2019 πŸ’ž

We’re not huge valentines people but we still like to just show we do love & appreciate each other! We didn’t do presents last year as we had just got the keys to the house. So we actually decided to be soppy this year 😍

Sam wasn’t here for Valentine’s Day this year, he had gone skiing with his dad, so we celebrated on the Friday. I didn’t want to go out this year as we now live together & it’s our first Valentine’s in our home so I wanted to make the most of that.

Sam got me some flowers delivered on Valentine’s Day… He is a good’un! He also ordered me some bath bombs from bomb cosmetics which came in the week too & I enjoyed those πŸ› he knows me so well. I bought Sam a cute photo book from free prints & a belt from Levi’s.

I cooked us a yummy meal & decorated the house a little bit too. Sam had steak & I had fish. Then we enjoyed some brownies & cookies that I had baked the day before.

How did you spend your Valentine’s Day?

Lifestyle; splash the cash or penny pinching?! πŸ’·

Okay, so… Since we have moved out & have to pay for EVERRRYYTTHING ourselves now I thought why not share with you all what we have done to save a few pennies here & there  πŸ’πŸ½

To start with, Sam really wanted to be able to watch football at home. But you know sky is ridiculously priced. We opted for going with bt tv purely for the sports. We both love watching films too, but again we couldn’t justify getting sky. We have Netflix & I love it! Brilliant films & series on there so I’m happy & Sam is happy! So Sam pays Β£30 a month for broadband, phone & tv with bt sports & then I pay for Netflix at Β£5.99… Still beats sky at like Β£50 a month!

If you know me then you will know that Sam loves tidying & cleaning… Yawn πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚ well because we love the house to look lovely & clean & smell fresh we do tend to replenish our cleaning products quite a lot! I tend to buy washing powder & conditioner when they’re on offer in tesco. Purely because they’re big & bulky & I can get them delivered. But everything else we tend to buy from B&M. They have branded stuff so much cheaper than getting it from the supermarket! It’s crazy.

Now onto food.. We love to eat & I was finding that getting a tesco shop every week was really getting steep. It was coming to a minimum of Β£50 a week for two of us 😩 I took everyone’s advice & started going to Aldi. Thank the Lord for Aldi! For example here are a few of the things I buy weekly & the price difference;

  • Grapes – Aldi Β£1.59  Tesco Β£2
  • Cucumber – Aldi Β£0.58  Tesco Β£0.60
  • Apples – Aldi Β£0.78 Tesco Β£0.78
  • Bananas – Aldi Β£0.88 Tesco Β£0.90
  • Raspberries – Aldi Β£1.30 Tesco Β£2
  • Blueberries – Aldi Β£1.20 Tesco Β£2
  • Peppers – Aldi Β£0.91 Tesco Β£0.91
  • Cherry tomatoes – Aldi Β£0.75 Tesco Β£0.85
  • Yoghurt – Aldi Β£0.85 Tesco Β£1.60
  • Soya milk – Aldi Β£0.59  Tesco Β£0.85
  • Semi skimmed milk – Aldi Β£0.79 Tesco Β£0.80
  • Wholemeal rolls – Aldi Β£0.49 Tesco Β£0.75

So just for these items; Aldi Β£10.71 & Tesco Β£14.04 that’s a saving of Β£3.33!

That’s just a little insight by the way. But it’s really shocking how much you can save by shopping about. And by no means do you have to follow what I am saying but it is so handy to save a few pennies here & there!

What do you do to save money?

Lifestyle; How we spent Christmas 2018 πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸ½

I cannot believe it’s done already… Completely flies by. We have all that hype & then that’s it, no more 😩 I had such a lovely Christmas I don’t want it to end so quickly. I hope you all had a lovely one too.

We were both so excited & happy to wake up together in our first home. I did ask Sam what the best part of Christmas was for him & he said that was his favourite part! 😍 I’m excited to start making our own traditions!

I set up some little blankets for us in the conservatory & put the heater on so it was nice & cosy for opening our presents. Sam was cooking our breakfast & I made our drinks. We had scrambled eggs & salmon… Mmmm!! πŸ‘ŒπŸ½ we also had some Buck’s Fizz too!

I then had a loooovely hot bath whilst Sam tidied up. We got ourselves ready then went to visit Sam’s family for the day. We ate, drank & played silly games. So we were super happy & merry! I then got a little too merry & fell asleep πŸ˜‚

On Boxing Day we went to my family & had another meal 😜 lucky burgers aren’t we?! We then helped my nephews build some of their toys & played some games with them.

In the evening on Boxing Day we played friends monopoly (Sam bought it for me for Christmas) & had some yummy nibbles & drinks!

We both had such a lovely Christmas! What did you get up to?

Blogmas Day 23; our own Christmas dinner πŸŽ‰

Today I cooked Sam & myself our own little Christmas dinner because we’re going to other people’s this year. I thought with it being our first Christmas at home I’d have a trial run for just the two of us then think about hosting next year.

I am really pleased with our table & how festive it looks 😍 I loved everything about it. We even had crackers too. I am such a traditionalist πŸ’πŸ½

I cooked turkey, stuffing, roast potatoes, sprouts, carrots, parsnips & pigs in blankets.

We both love sprouts & we found a nice recipe for some a few weeks back, which we have already tried, they’re sooo yum! They have chillies & Parmesan on them! Sorry if you’re not a sprout person haha πŸ˜‚

We then had mini desserts from tesco! I don’t like Christmas pudding, so I had gingerbread & butterscotch pudding! Safe to say Sam finished it off as I just couldn’t eat it all.

What’s your favourite part of the Christmas meal?
