Lifestyle; my birthday! πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰

Oh my goodness, I’m 27… Bloody hell. I am starting to feel it though now.

So my little man really spoilt me. He got me sooo much… I mean who would have thought a kitten could afford & know how to order all this stuff πŸ™„πŸ˜‚

Sam made me breakfast & we went off to the coast as it was a glorious day. We had a good walk & went round the amusements. I totally beat him at bowling too πŸ’πŸ½ we got some yummy doughnuts & treats & a hot chocolate too.

I then finished off my cake & if I say so myself, for a first try I think I did pretty well. Right?! 🍰 I got the topper & the candles from Amazon incase anyone wants to know.

Going back to the gifts I got. I was well & truly spoiled rotten. So many bath bombs, candles & smelly’s! Exactly what I wanted. Plus a fair few bottles of drink, including some yummy unicorn gin which didn’t even last 5 days πŸ˜‚ I had a lovely bunch of flowers & some new lunch boxes as well. Sam also got me some nice adidas trainers.

My mum & nephew then came round for a Chinese for tea.. And to taste the cake I made.Which, might I add, went down very well πŸ’πŸ½  Sam’s mum & dad then joined us for a drink too.

Thanks to everyone who made my day special πŸŽπŸŽ‚

Blogmas Day 23; our own Christmas dinner πŸŽ‰

Today I cooked Sam & myself our own little Christmas dinner because we’re going to other people’s this year. I thought with it being our first Christmas at home I’d have a trial run for just the two of us then think about hosting next year.

I am really pleased with our table & how festive it looks 😍 I loved everything about it. We even had crackers too. I am such a traditionalist πŸ’πŸ½

I cooked turkey, stuffing, roast potatoes, sprouts, carrots, parsnips & pigs in blankets.

We both love sprouts & we found a nice recipe for some a few weeks back, which we have already tried, they’re sooo yum! They have chillies & Parmesan on them! Sorry if you’re not a sprout person haha πŸ˜‚

We then had mini desserts from tesco! I don’t like Christmas pudding, so I had gingerbread & butterscotch pudding! Safe to say Sam finished it off as I just couldn’t eat it all.

What’s your favourite part of the Christmas meal?

Blogmas Day 8; Christmas decorations πŸŽ„

Today I am going to share with you some photos of our decorations! It is our first Christmas in our first home so we don’t have a lot. It’s way too costly haha but we got a few pretty bits to make it feel like Christmas!

The most obvious that we have is our tree. I absolutely love it! Like looove it. It was Β£99 from dunelm & there was no way I was going to back down & get a different one as it’s just perfect! The lights on the tree are from tesco & the baubles are a mixture of dunelm & tesco ☺️ the tree topper is from dunelm too. The grey lantern is from baytree & the copper ones are from Asda

We got some cute bits to put around the house too! The plain candle is from tesco (pack of 6) & the iridescent candle is from Matalan. The cute twig candle holder & the pot pourri are both from dunelm, along with the mirror plate. The little Xmas sign is from a local store,  baytree.

Lastly, but definitely not least our wreath! I bloody love it. How pretty is that? Alicia (lilyjayneflorist) was kind enough to adjust her designs for us as I like a lot of silver.

How many decorations do you have?

Blogmas Day 6; setting the table πŸ΄πŸ·

I think this is one of the most important parts of Christmas 😍 I mean, we all love to eat a good Christmas dinner. So surely that means we need to have a beautifully set table too?

I am SO happy with our first attempt, I think it looks bloody stunning. if I do say so myself πŸ’πŸ½πŸ˜œ

If you don’t already know our table & chairs are from next (in case that was the best part for you) ☺️ along with the lovely rose gold wine glasses which were Β£24. I got the snowflake table runner from Amazon & it was Β£9.99. I love it 😍

The copper cutlery, star tealight holder, tealights & copper candles are all from dunelm. I am so sorry I don’t know how much they all were πŸ™ˆ we went a little mad in there. It’s so easy to do that πŸ˜‚

The other cute copper tealights holders are from George, Asda & I think they were Β£3 each.  Lastly the crackers are from baytree garden centre. I think they go perfectly!

How do you set your table? 😍

Blogmas; day 15 πŸ•―✨

Another collab here lovelies! This time with Siyana, pretty pretty girl! Have a read of her blog πŸ’πŸ½ she’s got some fabulous Blogmas posts.

I think a lot of you will agree that a big part of decorating your home is adding lots of fabulous scents to it. Whether this is with candles or whether you love pot pourri. I personally love both! Maybe even some festive flowers? 🌺

I don’t particularly mind if it’s not a ‘Christmas scent’ just that it smells lovely when you walk in the house!

What do you love to use? These are my favourites!

Bloom candles make amazing candles & wax melts, my favourite is the banana nut bread! I think I have about 4 of these… πŸ™ˆ Honestly you need to smell it. Plus I love this next prosecco candle that a friend bought me, I’m now hooked.

The little ‘unicorn poop’ wax melt smells fruity & is so strong, you wouldn’t expect it from that! I’m currently waiting for a Yankee candle to arrive in the post that is called Christmas cookie, going to be burning that Christmas Eve through to new year 😍πŸͺ

I also love the smell of hot chocolate! You can’t beat it β˜•οΈπŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

Caitlincx; 1 year old πŸŽ‰πŸ’«

Cannot believe my blog is 1 year old already! Bloooming heck that went fast. Happy Blogiversary to meee πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠ

When I started this a year ago I didn’t think I would actually be able to get people to read my posts, nor did I think I would stick at it. But I can honestly say I love blogging.

At school I used to pride myself in my spelling & grammar. It’s one thing that I feel I am actually pretty good at. I enjoy writing & ‘creative writing’ πŸ“ was always my favourite. Who doesn’t love creating an exciting story in your head & then writing it down. I also really love lists… I swear I have a life too πŸ™„

Eeee look at my cake from baker days! I love it, Thankyou soooo much. It looked beautiful & had the most perfect sponge everrrr πŸ˜‹πŸ°

Here is a little insight into how long it can take to grow your blog. It doesn’t happen overnight & it takes a lot of commitment. But if you love what you do, you’ll get there & you’ll enjoy doing it.

I hope all my existing readers & hopefully new readers to come enjoy my posts! But I am always open to feedback or ideas so feel free to comment ☺️ I don’t bite I promise. I’d also love to know what your favourite type of posts are that I write! Engaging with my audience is something I think is important. So hey πŸ‘‹πŸ½  & thank you for supporting me!

Happy 1 year to my blog! Also head over to my Instagram, as I have teamed up with baker days, to do a fabulous giveaway! πŸ°πŸŽ‚

Dollibox; oct 17 πŸŽ€πŸ‚

This is going to be my last dollibox review for a little while. Don’t get me wrong, I love it. Just need to save some pennies πŸ˜’ boo, growing up is no fun..

So many products this month, it was a bit more me. Yaaay!

My favourite item in this box was the cranberries & cream hand & body lotion by patisserie de bain. A massive full sized product! It smells beautiful, my favourite kind of scent! I literally apply this all over & it honestly leaves my skin feeling soft. Even my knees & elbows πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ’•  you can get this in tesco or super drug by the way girls πŸ’πŸ½

Next comes the beaut of a wax melt! Mine smells bloody amazing! It’s a lavender scent so everywhere in the house then smells like a spa 😌 I couldn’t wait to give this a try, I always have a wax melt on the go. They’re also cruelty free βœ… Thankyou mermaid bay!

I used the face mask & I was a little disappointed. I’m not really into the peel off masks anymore & this was supposed be a scary ghoulish green… It really wasn’t. Plus it took sooo long to dry I gave up, so it didn’t even peel off nicely either… Sorrryyy!

I cannot review the palmers coconut formula hand cream because I am taking this on holiday with me in a few weeks. Wooohoo! It’s a travel size & I think it will be fab for looking after my skin in the sun! β˜€οΈ  I’ve never tried a palmers product that I’ve not loved πŸ™ŒπŸ½

The highlight liquid has a beautiful shimmer to it. I personally only really like using a powered highlighter on my cheekbones, but I did use this on the tip of my nose. It’s so pigmented as well so it shows up well in photos πŸ“Έ

Lastly the osis hair spray. Now I never ever use hairspray… The only time I ever would is if I have curled my hair, which is very rare for me. Another let down here girls, sorry.

Bit of a mixed review here lovelies. But I hope you enjoyed it, or found it helpful πŸ’πŸ½ does anybody else receive dollibox?

My birthday; gifted πŸ’„πŸŽπŸŽˆ

I thought I would share with you some of the things I got given for my birthday. Sorry if this bores anyone πŸ™„

My family:

I love asking for practical things that I don’t really want to buy for myself πŸ™ˆ so I asked my mum to get me some new pjs, dressing gown etc. It’s just one of those things I can never be bothered to go and buy. So I got given some cute primark pjs & dressing gown. They have Marie from the aristocats on πŸ±πŸ’• love that film. These are sooo comfy. I also got a new money box/prosecco fund πŸΎπŸ€” haha it’s so me. A bottle of Lacoste perfume, as I keep using the same ones over & over I thought a different one would be nice. My brother got me a bottle of rosΓ©, a photo frame of my nephews, the little cuties & some chocolate. I sound spoilt already πŸ™ˆ

My work colleagues:

I got so many goodies from my lovely co-workers. I was given a debenhams gift card, which I think I’m going to buy some new makeup with.. duh πŸ™„ A kenzo perfume which smells lovely. The lady who bought this said she always picks me one she would wear because I always tell her she smells nice πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚ some soaps, scrubs, candles & mojito sweets (yum) from others πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ people know me so well πŸ’πŸ½

My friends:

Sooo many bottles of rosΓ© & prosecco. Thanks Hannah, Jade & Colleen. A cute little necklace & coco pops lip balm too. Steph always buys something different πŸ’πŸ½ it tastes so good. Not that I’m eating it πŸ˜‚ I got a cute delivery from bloom & wild from Meg, this was really kind. They’re still looking beautiful in my room now! πŸ’  I also got some nice mermaid makeup brushes from my little mini me, Reilly (Colleens little one) which I’m going to do her makeup with πŸ’πŸ½πŸ˜ plus some more candles & chocolate 🍫

My boyfriend & his family:

More makeup brushes!! Plus a brush holder 😜 this time spectrum ones. Loads of Gerard cosmetics liquid lipsticks, πŸ’„ including a new shade I’ve not tried yet, wine down. Lots more chocolate of course.. I’m seeing a theme here. Loads of good bath bombs from bomb cosmetics, soaps & skincare treats from lush, just loads of goodies to keep my skin looking fab. Lucy (sam’s sister) also baked me a cake. I’m a very lucky girl, she even spelt my name right πŸ’πŸ½ haha! His auntie even bought me a lipsy bag, it’s a grey colour & it is literally spot on me 😍

Thankyou everyone 😘

My birthday; the pigs edgefield, holt πŸΎπŸŽ‚

When asked what I wanted to do for my birthday I knew in an instant. Ever since I had found this place I had been itching to go. Sam literally booked this back in March πŸ™ˆ if you’re anything like me you will LOVE this place.

As soon as we arrived I instantly felt relaxed. The place is so welcoming & so are the staff. When we checked in the lady couldn’t have been anymore helpful. She booked us a table for the evening & a slot to use the hot tub the following morning. We didn’t even realise we could do that, plus it was free too. Which was a nice surprise.

The room

We booked an original spa room which I was more than happy about 😍 the bathroom was stunning with marble tiles, a drench shower 🚿 & some luxury toiletries. I used the shower on the morning we left & for a bath lover I was pleased πŸ˜‚  the bed was massive!! Really comfy too. A wall mounted tv in front of the bed if you wanted a cosy night with a film. Plus tea, coffee, hot choc & bottled water. Then it gets to the good bit.. The dual bath tub with tv & the sauna. I mean your own sauna? What more could you want?! There was even a little candle by the bath πŸ•― outside there was a firepit with logs, fire lighters, matches & newspaper! Even blankets to wrap up in when it gets chilly. They really have thought of everything. There were plenty of towels & robes too. I think the floor was heated too so it can still be enjoyed in the winter months.

The extras

The little added touches always make an experience complete. So the rooms didn’t have their own fridges etc which then meant we had our own fridge in the corridor our room was   down. I think we shared it with 4/5 other rooms. The fridge had milk, soft drinks etc in it. Then on the side was a biscuit barrel, these were sooo yummy, lemon sweets galore, marshmallows for toasting by the fire & sticks too πŸ’πŸ½ plus sauna oil to help yourself to. In the cupboards were more logs for the fire, games if you fancied playing a game during your stay too… πŸ™„yeah, no comment on that one.

The food

Our evening meal was delicious. We had four iffits to share for a starter, whitebait, gin cured salmon, bacon & Cromer crab cake. So yum. Even though it took me a little while to actually eat the whitebait πŸ™ˆ  for the main I had ham hock with mash & roasted veggies. I definitely couldn’t eat it all there was sooo much. Sam had battered fish & chips, which looked tasty.. Didn’t get to try that as Sam demolished his πŸ™Š we both had a few drinks with it too, but the dessert we had to give a miss as we were both so full.. Breakfast was again, perfect. I had smoked salmon & scrambled eggs. Sam wanted the same but I had the last of the salmon, sorry babe πŸ™ˆ  so he had kedgeree, which is haddock & poached egg. Was actually really tasty πŸ˜‹ they also had loads of nice yoghurts & bits that you could help yourself to. Look at my cute little tea cosy 🐷

The experience

When we arrived the first thing we did was have a few drinks at the bar, because it was my birthday so why not? 🍾  lovely atmosphere & reasonably priced too πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ we then decided to order a smoothie to be brought to our room, which were alcohol based. I had ‘tropigal’ which was coconut, banana & Malibu 🍌 & Sam had ‘pigs nickers’ which was chocolate & peanut butter with baileys 🍫 we decided to get straight in the bath, I did bring a bath bomb with me which was one Sam got me for my birthday. It smelt sooo good. We drank these whilst we relaxed in the tub watching tv. Got a liiiiittle bit carried away & forgot the time. So then we both started to get ready for our meal.

Like I’ve already said the dinner was amazing, so I won’t waffle on too much. But if you ever go you MUST have the ham hock. Delicious πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ we had by this time had a few too many to drink πŸ™„

We decided to grab a load of goodies from the cupboard, so mainly biscuits & marshmallows πŸ˜‚ Sam was getting the fire going whilst I set the sauna up, which took 20 minutes to heat up. I opened a bottle of prosecco for us to continue to celebrate. The fire was a bit of a disaster… πŸ”₯ we just ended up smelling of smoke, so we gave up & took our drinks into the sauna! Hot hot hot πŸ’¦ we then got back in the tub & watched a movie. We were both knackered after a hard day of relaxing πŸ˜‚

The following morning we had our breakfast. So anyone who knows me & Sam will know we love food, we love it that much we were the first ones up for breakfast πŸ™„β˜•οΈ  after breakfast we went through to the hot tub & had a lovely time chatting away to each other. It can’t get much better than that on a Monday morning. . I didn’t want to leave the place was so good.

Has anybody else ever been here? I’d love to know your thoughts & how your stay went.

Ps. I bought my dog some posh sweets, chicken & rice sticks πŸΆπŸ’–

Mums birthday bedroom makeover πŸŽ‰πŸŽˆ

So I find it gets harder & harder to buy for my mum for her birthday. I usually do a spa day or a meal but thought I’d switch it up a bit this year. I’ve decided to do a bit of a mini makeover for her bedroom πŸ›Œ

Recently we have had our nephews start staying every other weekend so they have obviously taken over the living room haha (not complaining at all) but I thought surely that means our bedrooms being the right sort of space to really relax in is even more important πŸ€” I know that my mum would never think to buy this sort of stuff for herself, & I love furnishing rooms πŸ™„ so what a perfect idea. I am in no way good for money so it’s not a major makeover, but just enough I think.

I went on to matalan website to get a few bits & pieces. Candle holders & fake flowers πŸ’  Perfect little finishing touches to a girly bedroom. I tried to match it to the sort of colours that she already has in her bedroom, I think I’ve done an alright job… I was really pleased with the price of these. The little tealights candle holders were Β£2.50 each & the faux flowers with vase were only Β£5. Not too bad right?!

I then had a look on Amazon because my mum has a super King sized duvet, they aren’t as easy to find. Bargain to be fair on Amazon, I just hope that it’s okay quality at only Β£24.80.. It’s the perfect colour for her room so yaaay. From Amazon I also got some cute silver coasters which were only Β£8 for a pack of 4. Just something to glam the room up a little too.. I love doing this sort of thing πŸ’πŸ½  I also decided to get her a new alarm clock seeing as hers is like at least 20 years old! This cute little alarm clock ⏰ was only Β£9.99. I need one for myself πŸ™„

Does anybody else enjoy buying home stuff? πŸ™ˆ

So I was super pleased with the outcome πŸ’πŸ½ I hope my mum liked it as much as I did. What do you normally do for your family’s birthdays?
