Lifestyle change; becoming a bodyfit ambassador πŸ‹πŸ½πŸ’ͺ🏽

Never did I ever think that when I decided to turn my life around that I would become a fitness ambassador. So that’s just wow. Thanks bodyfit πŸ’πŸ½ my discount code is Caitlin10 if you fancy trying their products.

So, the reason why I started this journey? To put it bluntly I felt awful about myself. I’m still learning to love myself too, I do still have some bad days. But now it is more good than bad. Have you ever felt fine one second & the next you just want to cry. I have. It’s an awful feeling. So I really don’t see any better reason to make a huge change in my life. So for the past few months that is what I have been doing.

Working out

I have upped my game at the gym. I used to go once or twice a week. It’s now more like 5 times. This has made me feel a lot better. I haven’t made the most massive of changes but I can notice that my body fat has definitely gone down a lot. I do a lot more weights now & I absolutely love the cables. Get using them girls πŸ’ͺ🏽  you can literally do anything with these. When I was going before I was using a lot more lighter weights, this is where I have noticed the improvement most as I’m really managing to get the weight increased. I like to praise myself too when I get a new personal best with weights.

Food

So I do still have some treats, but the most of it I have changed. I couldn’t tell you the last time I had a McDonald’s etc πŸ’πŸ½ sooo, so proud of me. I’m really enjoying having stir fry! Found a really tasty sauce in tesco, coconut & lemongrass, it’s a must for you to try if you enjoy stir fry πŸ˜‹ eating plenty of greens too, I love broccoli & asparagus… I promise you I’m not weird πŸ˜‚ & all fruit πŸ‡ for breakfast I enjoy having granola with natural yoghurt, banana, raspberry, honey & chia seeds. I’ve even managed to get my mum to eat it now. I never used to drink enough water either, but I feel like I have really made an improvement with this πŸ’§ little tip; get a water bottle, fairly big so you can keep track on how many times you have filled it up

Supplements

They aren’t always necessary & not everyone likes using them but I love having them to help me build up my muscles. Whether it’s a shake or a snack I feel so much better using them. Protein plays a huge part with fitness so I would highly recommend implementing it into your lifestyle. I love banana shakes, or protein bars after a workout. I would also highly recommend taking a multivitamin. If you don’t fancy supplements, not a problem, but vitamins are amazing 😍

Lastly your mindset is a very huge role in a lifestyle change. You have to want to do it, not just need to. It didn’t take much to persuade my mind that this is what I wanted to do. I think my anxiety pushed it along a lot quicker πŸ™  tell yourself everyday that you can do it. It honestly doesn’t matter at what speed you get there, it’s entirely your choice. It doesn’t matter if you start off on low weights, or you can’t run fast etc. You are doing it, that’s what counts.

My birthday; gifted πŸ’„πŸŽπŸŽˆ

I thought I would share with you some of the things I got given for my birthday. Sorry if this bores anyone πŸ™„

My family:

I love asking for practical things that I don’t really want to buy for myself πŸ™ˆ so I asked my mum to get me some new pjs, dressing gown etc. It’s just one of those things I can never be bothered to go and buy. So I got given some cute primark pjs & dressing gown. They have Marie from the aristocats on πŸ±πŸ’• love that film. These are sooo comfy. I also got a new money box/prosecco fund πŸΎπŸ€” haha it’s so me. A bottle of Lacoste perfume, as I keep using the same ones over & over I thought a different one would be nice. My brother got me a bottle of rosΓ©, a photo frame of my nephews, the little cuties & some chocolate. I sound spoilt already πŸ™ˆ

My work colleagues:

I got so many goodies from my lovely co-workers. I was given a debenhams gift card, which I think I’m going to buy some new makeup with.. duh πŸ™„ A kenzo perfume which smells lovely. The lady who bought this said she always picks me one she would wear because I always tell her she smells nice πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚ some soaps, scrubs, candles & mojito sweets (yum) from others πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ people know me so well πŸ’πŸ½

My friends:

Sooo many bottles of rosΓ© & prosecco. Thanks Hannah, Jade & Colleen. A cute little necklace & coco pops lip balm too. Steph always buys something different πŸ’πŸ½ it tastes so good. Not that I’m eating it πŸ˜‚ I got a cute delivery from bloom & wild from Meg, this was really kind. They’re still looking beautiful in my room now! πŸ’  I also got some nice mermaid makeup brushes from my little mini me, Reilly (Colleens little one) which I’m going to do her makeup with πŸ’πŸ½πŸ˜ plus some more candles & chocolate 🍫

My boyfriend & his family:

More makeup brushes!! Plus a brush holder 😜 this time spectrum ones. Loads of Gerard cosmetics liquid lipsticks, πŸ’„ including a new shade I’ve not tried yet, wine down. Lots more chocolate of course.. I’m seeing a theme here. Loads of good bath bombs from bomb cosmetics, soaps & skincare treats from lush, just loads of goodies to keep my skin looking fab. Lucy (sam’s sister) also baked me a cake. I’m a very lucky girl, she even spelt my name right πŸ’πŸ½ haha! His auntie even bought me a lipsy bag, it’s a grey colour & it is literally spot on me 😍

Thankyou everyone 😘

My birthday; the pigs edgefield, holt πŸΎπŸŽ‚

When asked what I wanted to do for my birthday I knew in an instant. Ever since I had found this place I had been itching to go. Sam literally booked this back in March πŸ™ˆ if you’re anything like me you will LOVE this place.

As soon as we arrived I instantly felt relaxed. The place is so welcoming & so are the staff. When we checked in the lady couldn’t have been anymore helpful. She booked us a table for the evening & a slot to use the hot tub the following morning. We didn’t even realise we could do that, plus it was free too. Which was a nice surprise.

The room

We booked an original spa room which I was more than happy about 😍 the bathroom was stunning with marble tiles, a drench shower 🚿 & some luxury toiletries. I used the shower on the morning we left & for a bath lover I was pleased πŸ˜‚  the bed was massive!! Really comfy too. A wall mounted tv in front of the bed if you wanted a cosy night with a film. Plus tea, coffee, hot choc & bottled water. Then it gets to the good bit.. The dual bath tub with tv & the sauna. I mean your own sauna? What more could you want?! There was even a little candle by the bath πŸ•― outside there was a firepit with logs, fire lighters, matches & newspaper! Even blankets to wrap up in when it gets chilly. They really have thought of everything. There were plenty of towels & robes too. I think the floor was heated too so it can still be enjoyed in the winter months.

The extras

The little added touches always make an experience complete. So the rooms didn’t have their own fridges etc which then meant we had our own fridge in the corridor our room was   down. I think we shared it with 4/5 other rooms. The fridge had milk, soft drinks etc in it. Then on the side was a biscuit barrel, these were sooo yummy, lemon sweets galore, marshmallows for toasting by the fire & sticks too πŸ’πŸ½ plus sauna oil to help yourself to. In the cupboards were more logs for the fire, games if you fancied playing a game during your stay too… πŸ™„yeah, no comment on that one.

The food

Our evening meal was delicious. We had four iffits to share for a starter, whitebait, gin cured salmon, bacon & Cromer crab cake. So yum. Even though it took me a little while to actually eat the whitebait πŸ™ˆ  for the main I had ham hock with mash & roasted veggies. I definitely couldn’t eat it all there was sooo much. Sam had battered fish & chips, which looked tasty.. Didn’t get to try that as Sam demolished his πŸ™Š we both had a few drinks with it too, but the dessert we had to give a miss as we were both so full.. Breakfast was again, perfect. I had smoked salmon & scrambled eggs. Sam wanted the same but I had the last of the salmon, sorry babe πŸ™ˆ  so he had kedgeree, which is haddock & poached egg. Was actually really tasty πŸ˜‹ they also had loads of nice yoghurts & bits that you could help yourself to. Look at my cute little tea cosy 🐷

The experience

When we arrived the first thing we did was have a few drinks at the bar, because it was my birthday so why not? 🍾  lovely atmosphere & reasonably priced too πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ we then decided to order a smoothie to be brought to our room, which were alcohol based. I had ‘tropigal’ which was coconut, banana & Malibu 🍌 & Sam had ‘pigs nickers’ which was chocolate & peanut butter with baileys 🍫 we decided to get straight in the bath, I did bring a bath bomb with me which was one Sam got me for my birthday. It smelt sooo good. We drank these whilst we relaxed in the tub watching tv. Got a liiiiittle bit carried away & forgot the time. So then we both started to get ready for our meal.

Like I’ve already said the dinner was amazing, so I won’t waffle on too much. But if you ever go you MUST have the ham hock. Delicious πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ we had by this time had a few too many to drink πŸ™„

We decided to grab a load of goodies from the cupboard, so mainly biscuits & marshmallows πŸ˜‚ Sam was getting the fire going whilst I set the sauna up, which took 20 minutes to heat up. I opened a bottle of prosecco for us to continue to celebrate. The fire was a bit of a disaster… πŸ”₯ we just ended up smelling of smoke, so we gave up & took our drinks into the sauna! Hot hot hot πŸ’¦ we then got back in the tub & watched a movie. We were both knackered after a hard day of relaxing πŸ˜‚

The following morning we had our breakfast. So anyone who knows me & Sam will know we love food, we love it that much we were the first ones up for breakfast πŸ™„β˜•οΈ  after breakfast we went through to the hot tub & had a lovely time chatting away to each other. It can’t get much better than that on a Monday morning. . I didn’t want to leave the place was so good.

Has anybody else ever been here? I’d love to know your thoughts & how your stay went.

Ps. I bought my dog some posh sweets, chicken & rice sticks πŸΆπŸ’–

Present ideas; uncommongoods πŸ›πŸŽ

So we all lack some present ideas once in a while, this year I have πŸ™ˆ well had, until I found this website. It’s uncommongoods, never heard of it? Neither had I. I’m glad I have now though. It reminds me of notonthehighstreet with similar products.

I looked into the site a little bit more in depth. This website is something else, they actually give you the option to donate to a non-profitable organisation πŸ’πŸ½ this comes from the company not you I’d like to add, which they have been doing since 2001. How good is thst? I loooove that they don’t sell anything that contains leather, feathers or even fur. Why do people buy real fur anyway, completely beyond me πŸ€”

Anywho, some of the products they sell. Which is what you all want to see:

Now I love the grow cocktails kit. It looks so good, in an egg box πŸ’πŸ½ that had me sold. It’s a good gift for your girl friends. It contains; mint, Thai basil, lemon balm, thyme, lavender, blue borage seeds & some fabulous cocktail recipes. I don’t know about you but most girls love a good cocktail night so what better gift to give. It’s also a complete bargain at Β£8.86 🍹🍸

The what I love about you book, queue the aww’s, would be a gift I’d like to receive πŸ’πŸ½ I mean who doesn’t hint to their other half.. You can find this under gifts for your girlfriend.  But it’s the cutest idea everrrr, basically you just fill in the blank spaces so it’s personalised to your relationship with the person. It has 112 pages.. So you better really love this person 😍😜 again this is another steal at Β£7.39

Right, now I know we have a little while before christmas BUT these are perfect gifts for Christmas for pretty much anybody πŸ‘ŒπŸ½ portable table tennis, how fun does this look? Forget playing charades or monopoly at christmas! Just find yourself a flat surface & you’re well on your way. You can choose between red or blue, added touch there 😍 it has a ball holder within the product too, so you don’t need to worry about losing them πŸ’πŸ½ plus it comes with two ping pong balls, yaaay! I love this, who wants to get it for me? It’s only Β£29.51.. Pleeeease 🎁

Lastly, these. These are just spot on. Glasses with the recipes for cocktails on πŸ˜‹πŸΉ how perfect. Can I have one now? All this talk about alcohol πŸ™„  this one is the biggest bargain, ever. For a set of 4 it’s only Β£15.51.

I will definitely be making some purchases on this site. Have you ever heard of it before?

Lifestyle change; progressπŸ’ͺπŸ½πŸ‘

If you are easily scared by pictures of ‘wobbly’ bodies in bikinis then please stop reading now.. You have been warned. So as you might all remember I posted a blog about how I had recently made a huge lifestyle change to help my confidence. I hope everyone enjoyed it by the way ☺️ well this is a few months on.

I worked out that not only was I not eating the right things (I’m sure most people do this or have done this) I also wasn’t eating enough. Don’t be afraid to have a snack, but just make sure it’s the right kind of snack. Some of the food I am eating now is below πŸ‘‡πŸ½ a few good places to get some great nutrition & supplements from are; bodyfit (use code caitlin10 for a discount) cute nutrition & women’s best πŸ’ͺ🏽

So before I was eating takeaways, cakes, biscuits etc, alongside some fruit & veg. I was also going to the gym 1-2 times a week doing mainly cardio workouts.. As you can see this wasn’t getting me anywhere! I honestly needed to sort myself out. I found my confidence got less & less. I felt awful about myself πŸ™ˆ some days to the point I would actually cry. It’s so bloody awful. January was literally the worst my body has ever looked πŸ˜“

It’s no excuse but it doesn’t help that I suffer with fibromyalgia, if you don’t know what this is or haven’t heard of it, it is a long term medical condition that causes the most awful chronic pain. To name just a few symptoms; muscle stiffness, fatigue, increased sensitivity to pain. Like I say I’m not excusing myself, but I need to learn when to carry on & when to stop. It’s a condition which has made me have to cut down hours at work. I wouldn’t be able to do 40 hours a week, let alone 40 hours & then go to the gym. BUT I am learning how far I can push myself.

This is now a few months on, eating a lot better, working out 4-5 times a week & doing more weights. I don’t have the best strength yet, but I’m improving each day. Plus for now I am happy with lighter weights, I need to keep in the right frame of mind so I don’t scare myself away from doing this. Plus my new found love at a gym is the cables… So many things you can do.

Just remember we all get bloated, we all fall off the wagon a little. But we’re all human. If I can do this so can you ☺️

Would anyone like to know what workouts I do?

Caitlin xoπŸ’ͺ🏽😘

One year anniversary πŸ’• Sam & CaitlinΒ

Myself & Sam have celebrated our 1 year anniversary on 17th August. We did a few different things for it . I had to share with you all.

So I decided to treat him to a good present seeing as he seems to enjoy treating me every weekend. I bought us Ed Sheeran tickets & kept it a secret from him. So pleased with myself haha. I let him know in his card, so at 6am that morning I basically threw the card at him, haha! He was pleased so mission accomplished πŸ‘ŒπŸΌπŸ˜„

He got me the cutest card ever, it obviously had dogs on it πŸ˜‚  I had a bouquet of flowers delivered to my door, he treated me to a meal out at a lovely restaurant along the coast & he bought us tickets to a London show (which you will see later on) I really am a lucky girl.

We ate out at a restaurant called the lifeboat inn, thornham. Such a lovely place. We have eaten out in thornham before & loved it so we thought we would give this restaurant a go. It had such a cute feel to it, plus it’s on the coast so they allow dogs in, sooo many cute little angels in there 🐢 anyway, the food was perfect! Plus the service was good, they kept apologising for a wait between starter & main, which we really weren’t fussed about. We wanted to spend the evening there so we did πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ for 3 courses each & an alcohol drink each it came to Β£64, which we thought was reasonable. We would definitely go back 🍾

So the show we went to…Now I honestly can not tell you how amazing & fun this was. We went to the vaults in London, it was a show but an interactive one. It was called Alice underground, based on Alice in wonderland. I want to tell you all the ins & outs but I don’t want to spoil it for everyone. But basically you go into different areas & rooms that have been created for the different characters. You get to run around, eat tarts, drink potions to make you shrink, chat with the characters & if you’re lucky enough to get picked, like me, secret missions need to be completed. We honestly had such a great day. Sam booked the tickets through designmynight & they were Β£37.50 each. A bargain for an hour & a half in London.

We started the day off with a delicious breakfast at the lighterman too.. With a cocktail πŸΉπŸ™„ of course πŸ’πŸ½  to those who don’t know, eggs benedict is my absolute favourite breakfast.

I feel like we really did celebrate πŸΎπŸ’• and I know I am a VERY lucky girl to have him. Love you Sam 😘 (if you ever read this) πŸ˜‚ does anybody else’s other halves read their blogs?

What’s in it for me? πŸ’πŸ½πŸ™„

‘Enough about you, let’s talk about me. More precisely , what’s in it for me? Or rather, what’s not in it for me?’
Recently I have been using this fabulous body cleanser… I’m really loving this brand! It’s called what’s in it for me? It has the freshest packaging you will come across. Trust me, you’ll love it.

Basically it’s all about self love. We all need that. What’s wrong with being selfish when it comes to skincare?! We all love to pamper ourselves & look after our skin. I opted for the body cleanser as I loved the scents in this. It smells UH-may-zing.

So I only use about 4 pumps per time, which is a sufficient amount. Plus how good is that? Hopefully that means it won’t just run out after a week πŸ’πŸ½ I love using this when I have a bath πŸ› it makes the bathroom smell soooo good. It contains aloe vera, witch hazel & grapefruit extract for a fabulous cleanse. Plus peppermint & Rosemary oil πŸ™ŒπŸ½  so many goodies for your skin in there. It has the perfect consistency, as I hate using cleansers that are too runny or too thin. It just seems like you have to use so much more when they are.

I think the added touch for me is the fact it’s in a pump dispenser. Makes it super easy to use.

Has anybody else fallen in love with this brand yet?

Mums birthday bedroom makeover πŸŽ‰πŸŽˆ

So I find it gets harder & harder to buy for my mum for her birthday. I usually do a spa day or a meal but thought I’d switch it up a bit this year. I’ve decided to do a bit of a mini makeover for her bedroom πŸ›Œ

Recently we have had our nephews start staying every other weekend so they have obviously taken over the living room haha (not complaining at all) but I thought surely that means our bedrooms being the right sort of space to really relax in is even more important πŸ€” I know that my mum would never think to buy this sort of stuff for herself, & I love furnishing rooms πŸ™„ so what a perfect idea. I am in no way good for money so it’s not a major makeover, but just enough I think.

I went on to matalan website to get a few bits & pieces. Candle holders & fake flowers πŸ’  Perfect little finishing touches to a girly bedroom. I tried to match it to the sort of colours that she already has in her bedroom, I think I’ve done an alright job… I was really pleased with the price of these. The little tealights candle holders were Β£2.50 each & the faux flowers with vase were only Β£5. Not too bad right?!

I then had a look on Amazon because my mum has a super King sized duvet, they aren’t as easy to find. Bargain to be fair on Amazon, I just hope that it’s okay quality at only Β£24.80.. It’s the perfect colour for her room so yaaay. From Amazon I also got some cute silver coasters which were only Β£8 for a pack of 4. Just something to glam the room up a little too.. I love doing this sort of thing πŸ’πŸ½  I also decided to get her a new alarm clock seeing as hers is like at least 20 years old! This cute little alarm clock ⏰ was only Β£9.99. I need one for myself πŸ™„

Does anybody else enjoy buying home stuff? πŸ™ˆ

So I was super pleased with the outcome πŸ’πŸ½ I hope my mum liked it as much as I did. What do you normally do for your family’s birthdays?
