Lookfantastic; July 2017 πŸŒ΄βœ¨

Summer summer summer tiiiime… Loved this box. Loads of goodies this month. Not that there isn’t any month πŸ˜‚ I swear beauty boxes like to surprise me lately. I had an added extra in this one, that I really enjoyed too πŸ˜› keep reading & you’ll find out πŸ˜‰

I can’t even tell you what was my favourite this month. Too many good products πŸ™ˆ

The Moroccan oil styling cream is beautiful. It literally looks like it would be a hand cream, so it had a thicker texture than most argan oil based products. I can honestly tell you my hair has NEVER been so silky before. Please try this brand if you haven’t already. Your mind will be blown, I promise! πŸ’†πŸ½ definitely need to get myself some more of this. I use a teeny tiny amount just on the ends of my hair to get amazingly soft hair.

My little beauty shot, that isn’t featured in the magazine, tasted so fruity. I was worried it would taste horrendous, so I was pleasantly surprised, not sure why this wasn’t featured because I loved it. It contained collagen and vitamin c to revitalise your skin & leave it looking youthful & glowing. I’ve literally just had a look to see if I can buy them… This box is going to make me poor πŸ™ˆ

I wish I could tell you about the facial sun cream by mikita… But we have literally had no sun. What a rubbish English summer this year. It can be used as a day cream, but I think I will just wait to see if the sun reappears first.. Cute packaging though β˜€οΈ

I’ve literally used the bronzer from hot makeup everyday for work since receiving it. It is a lovely product. Unlike some bronzers it isn’t too orange, so I’m definitely pleased with this. I have more of an olive colour to my skin when I tan, so anything that’s too strong will really stick out on me. A full sized makeup product too, wahooo πŸ™ŒπŸ½

The jelly pong pong highlighting pencil is literally the only product I haven’t fallen in love with in this box. Not because it isn’t good, (I love their mascara 😍) but because I prefer a powder or liquid when it comes to this sort of makeup. It can be used as a concealer too, or on your waterline to open up your eyes, so it is very versatile!

My teeth… They feel amazing. Thankyou for the sample of the rengerare toothpaste! This toothpaste was honestly the best I’ve ever used. Even after the first brush they looked so much better. It helps to repair the enamel on your teeth which naturally brings back the whiteness to them. And I loooove having sparkly teeth πŸ˜ƒ cannot wait to purchase some more.

The cowshed toner is perfect for my sensitive skin. I was so pleased to receive this as I was almost out of toner at the time. Toner is the part of the skincare routine that most people forget or skip, but it’s such a good step. I have tried other products by this brand and loved them equally as much as I love this one. If you haven’t heard of this brand or tried it, then you most definitely should.

If the products don’t sell this box to you then surely the packaging alone does? It’s so clean and crisp. I love that you always get a travel sized copy of Elle magazine each month aswellπŸ’πŸ½

What did you love about this box?

Roccabox πŸ’Ž July 2017

This is fastly becoming one of my favourite times of the month, seeing this on my doorstep. Wooohooo! Roccabox is absolutely beautiful, the packaging is so blogger friendly, just look at it πŸ’– this month there were 6 fabulous products. Some were new brands, some I have seen before & love, I’d like to add.

Let’s start with the soap & glory dry shampoo, wow! I love this brand so I was really excited to try this. I have literally tried it just now (before I started writing this review) it smells sooo good. There is nothing better than having great smelling hair. I didn’t need to use a lot, & unlike some other dry shampoos I have tried it didn’t just sit in my hair & look visible. Really loved this.

The burts bees cleansing oil is absolutely amazing. I had never thought of oil being a good cleanser until now. If you haven’t tried it you should. The only thing I found is that you have to use a fair amount, so be careful if you already have oily skin βœ¨πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ if you loved this you can get 20% off until 31st August using the code BBOFF20 – how good is that?!

I had never heard of Ellis faas until now. Had you? The full size concealer that I received is amazing its worth Β£22! A sleek silver packaging makes it clean & beautiful. It has the perfect consistency & application is so easy. I use this on my dark circles & I am so impressed. It looks like I slept amazingly πŸ™„ It is a little pricey so I wouldn’t purchase again, but only because of the price not the quality of the product.

The balance me congested skin serum is lovely as always. Unlike some of their products it is a little thicker, which I love. It helps to rid your skin of spots & blemishes. I loved this as I have quite oily skin at times & it honestly took away the shine to my skin so I was grease free πŸ’πŸ½  they’re offering customers 15% off until 31/8 so just use the code ROCCAJULY.

I really enjoyed using my evolve beauty mask. It literally smelt just like chocolate. It had a texture that was more like a scrub, so I did work it into my skin a bit as well. I left this on for 5-10 minutes & it came off easily with warm water. I felt like my face as a lot brighter after using this. Plus it smelt good enough to eat. Another brand that is offering a discounted price, get it before 31st July & use code rox17 for 15% off.

Last but not least the little tub of goodness from the magic organic apothecary. Perfect for anybody 😍 this is beaut & smells bloody amazing. What I love most about this is that it is made up of natural ingredients. I had never tried a moisture balm before but this has really made me eager to try more.

What did everyone else think of this months box?

Rhodes; June/July 2017 β˜€οΈπŸŒ΄πŸ‘™

I thought I would share with you some of the exciting things we did on our holiday. You can probably tell I’m a little bit holiday mad. We already have our next one booked, yay πŸ™ŒπŸ½  We went to Rhodes on 24th June for 12 days, 11 nights. The hotel we stayed at was called Rhodos horizon resort. It was beautifully clean & white (just how I like it) I love Greece for this! It felt like we waited a lifetime for this holiday because we booked it way back in December 2016. It was totally worth waiting for though.

Aside from tanning by the pool most days we did go out to discover the towns a little bit ( we always ate whilst we explored though πŸ™„) where our hotel was was in Rhodes town itself, we visited a lovely massage place for a nice treat one of the days & it didn’t take long to walk there. It was called anesis, we felt really relaxed after this. Sam had a sports massage for 60minutes & I enjoyed a hot stone massage, it was loooovely.

We ate out in Old Rhodes a couple of times. Annoyingly I cannot remember the name of the first place we ate at, but this was the anniversary of our first date (cue the awwww) it was an Italian, & the food was so tasty. Had the loveliest of views too. The second place we ate at in old Rhodes was called archipegalo’s. Another Italian.. To be fair I think we only ate at Italians. We didn’t rate this as much. But was still lovely views over the old town.

Just to add, they had the best ice creams there too. With flavours like Nutella, snickers, bounty etc. Some good cocktails there aswell… Not that I had any πŸ™„πŸ˜‚

We had a day out of the sun too & we literally walked to the shop down the road from our hotel & bought ice creams & big bags of crisps, & just laid in bed all day watching films. We only got up for more food & to play pool & table tennis. Sometimes you just need a day like this too, especially as we didn’t want to get burnt.

We also went out for some food in ialysos to a place called cavo italiano.. Oh lord this was the prettiest restaurant I have ever seen or been to. The food & drinks were just as good as the presentation of the place, & it was like 2/3rd’s of the price of eating out in old Rhodes. Highly recommend this place! We then got chatting to some people at the hotel & invited them out with us so we went back again we loved it that much.

We enjoyed having a walk around & just looking in the shops, the views & doing a bit of people watching. I always like to get an anklet so we had to go shopping πŸ™Š

We’re off to Tenerife at the end of the year, I’m excited to visit Siam park & Loro parque. Wooohoo! Where do you like to go on holiday?

Dollibox; July 2017 πŸ’«πŸ’•

This month my dollibox kept me waiting, I’m so impatient when I know it’s a new month haha πŸ˜‚ BUT as always it didn’t disappoint. Another fabulous 6 products arrived on my doorstep this month. When I opened this box I literally just saw so many cute products.

I was so pleased to see more from the amazing brand; seacret. This time it was a pack of Dead Sea bath salts. I love baths so this was ideal for me. I halved the pack so I had 2 baths out of this packet. My skin was so soft when I had finished. They were perfect, as I know sometimes your bath can feel gritty, but not with these. I’d 100% recommend these.

This was my first silicone sponge makeup applicator, so I was really excited to receive this. It went so well with the cats wink bb cream (they’re both also really cute) 🐱 I enjoyed using the sponge to apply my makeup as it glides over the skin perfectly. I still used a beauty blender though so I could get into all the creases of my skin, I sound like I’ve got wrinkles but I’m sure you all know what I mean. Haha! I’ll definitely be using this more. The bb cream has the most beautiful scent to it as well. Purrrrfect😜

Now this body oil… Oh my! They do lots of different types, I received the naked oil. Yes you read that right… πŸ™ˆ don’t worry guys, I won’t be telling you any weird stories. But I did use it on the other half as he has very tight muscles from playing football. So what better way to try it. This smelt so luxurious. It was the perfect consistency, as I HATE runny oils. Really impressed with this!

Thank goodness, finally a decent liquid eyeliner pen. Hallelujah. I really struggle to find a good one as usually the tips are waaay too thin for my liking & too scratchy. Personally I like a bit of a thicker line. So I was super happy with this. Only Β£5 too, what a bargain.

I have literally just used my bioaqua face mask. These never disappoint. Thes are cotton face masks soaked with goodness. This particular mask had a seaweed extract which helps with moisture retention. It also has hyaluronic acid which reduces the appearance of blemishes πŸ™ŒπŸ½ heaven in a mask. I personally use one in the bath & leave it on whilst I’m conditioning my hair (roughly 5/6 minutes) as my skin isn’t too dry.

Has anybody else ever tried dollibox, if you haven’t you should. For the August box it’s only Β£6.99 including postage. Use code: PINKFLAMINGO

Skincare routine, for baby soft skin βœ¨

If there is one thing that I would like people to take from this post it’s that you always double cleanse. Please!

So anyway… I like to think that I’ve got pretty good skin, I mean we all have the occasional outbreak but other than that I like the skin I have. I honestly believe you have to look after it though. This doesn’t just mean your face though, top to bottom πŸ‘ (ooo peachy 😜). Please always drink plenty of water too (this doesn’t just mean plain tap water) tea, green tea, squash etc. Just keep hydrated as this will always be the first step.

1. Cleanse

I always double cleanse, you must get rid of any dirt/make up etc off your face before you do anything else, so doing this twice will really remove anything. Think of it like when you are at the hairdressers and they do a double shampoo. Try it, trust me. There are so many different cleansing products nowadays & you don’t have to stick to just one πŸ’πŸ½ I use; face wipes, micellar water, cleansing lotions, cleansing foams, cleansing oils. By all means if you find your favourite stick to it, but I personally love to try different things. Below are a few of my favs.

2. Exfoliate
This isn’t something you HAVE to do every day, a few times a week is enough. But it’s very important. Exfoliating helps to rid the skin of clogged pores, oily skin & this is what leads to acne… Boo! I have a few products that do multiple things, so you may find some facial cleansing pads also help exfoliate πŸ’«

3. Tone

This seems to be the part that a lot of people skip, but it’s sooo good. It does a variety of things for our skin, including; preventing ingrown hairs, moisturising, refreshing the skin, adds protection, shrinks pores. See told you it’s worth it πŸ™Š

4. Moisturise/Night cream

This is my favourite part 😍 depending on whether its morning or evening you will need a moisturiser or a night cream πŸ’πŸ½ I absolutely love night creams, that’s my favourite time to look after my skin. You might be wondering what the difference is, I did, basically a day cream/moisturiser may have spf protection or a tint to them & night creams don’t πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ I do find that night creams are a little bit thicker too though.

On a weekly basis I also treat myself to a face mask, love to use these in the bath. I used to always use the ones that you can peel off. I have now fallen in love with mud masks though…

What are your favourite skincare products?

Roccabox JUNE 2017; my first box πŸ’Ž

This box is absolutely beautiful. I first heard about it when I saw an account that I follow on Instagram post a picture of that beautiful packaging. Completely lured me in. This is a subscription box that you can unsubscribe to at any point too, so if you are super skint one month, then you don’t need to worry. You can just restart it when you like πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ I also loooove the little logo for this box πŸ’Ž

The olverum bath oil is so luxurious. Using this really helped me to relax & feel at ease. Smells absolutely amazing too, completely filled the bathroom with its scent. My skin felt so soft after using this too. Another added bonus is it didn’t leave the bath looking greasy. Really enjoyed this product, for a full size bottle of this it is Β£27. I imagine that would last a fair while as the sample I received I used it for 3 baths πŸ›€πŸ½ even my boyfriend said it smelt amazing πŸ’πŸ½

The svelte super tea, ohh my. I love a good tea β˜•οΈ I have recently done a review on tiny tea (if you haven’t read it then please do, so good) but this tea was just as good. I obviously only received one tea bag, so cannot tell you if they make a difference but if you’re looking to try out a new brand of these nourishing teas then this is worth giving a try. They never taste as bad as people imagine they do too! I’ll definitely be buying some of these.

Bellapierre is becoming another favourite brand of mine. I already have a beauty of a highlighter which is so me. Now I have a kiss proof πŸ’‹ lip creme. I love a matte lip & they even sent me MY colour. So pleased. I’ve used this a few times already, I cannot believe I received a full size of this which is worth Β£20 πŸ’„

Eyelash curlers by the vintage cosmetics company, yessss. I really love their packaging. I already own a few of their products & love them, including tweezers. So it’s safe to say I was happy when I saw these. These included a few spare cushions (not sure if that’s the correct term but it’s what I’m using) amazing value for money for these eyelash curlers.

A hang bag sized oil roll on by bloomtown botanicals. Smells absolutely gorgeous & summery. The scent does last for quite a while but you do have to use a fair amount. Rather than a spritz of perfume onto one wrist you do need to roll it on to both wrists to get the scent to really come out.  I think this is a really clever idea rather than carrying around perfume for the day. Looking forward to using this throughout the summer 🌸

Is anybody else subscribed to this box?

Holiday clothes; I always take too many πŸ‘™πŸ‘

Who doesn’t overpack nowadays? πŸ™„ I went away for 12 days, 11 nights so I paid for the extra luggage, I knew I wouldn’t ever manage just 15kg. Yeah, I still managed to be over the 20kgs… Kind Thomson man let me off though πŸ™ˆ I won’t show you everything I wore as we would be here for years, just a few snippets.

A beauty of a playsuit from axparis that I think I bought last year (just remembered I definitely did as I wore it to a wedding reception) not sure how much I paid but it’s so lovely. Really comfortable & its lightweight & fairly thin so it’s not too hot to wear. I have to put a little bandeau top underneath though as it’s fairly revealing without πŸ™„. I love taking white on holiday, shows off your tan πŸ’πŸ½ teamed it with a red lip to add a pop of colour to the outfit.

Another buy from axparis was this fabulous white dress with embroidery on the front. I literally bought this just before my holiday so it should still be available to buy, just saying 😜 I think it was around Β£30. Little tip; wear white underwear please. Again super happy with this dress, as you can probably see I had a bit more of a tan when I wore this. It was fairly thick though so I did get hot πŸ™ˆ Felt super glam in this, especially next to that hunk 😍 πŸ‘‡πŸ½

Onto my swimwear… I absolutely love buying bikinis. And I love to have a good variety. I don’t necessarily buy expensive ones, but I do have a few that are a little higher priced. If I’m likely to go swimming a lot or to a waterpark etc I’ll be more safe in a proper sized bikini. But lazing by the pool I don’t mind, I’d rather be thinking about not getting too many tan lines πŸ˜‚  so this year I had a few from new look, annsummers, topshop.

So the first one (left to right) is from missguided, I bought this last year & it fits a treat. I love the net looking style & the added strappy details. The middle is a mixture & to be completely honest with you I think it wasn’t anymore than Β£5 from an Australian web site! But I love the bottoms so much (I do love a bit of floral) πŸ‘™ lastly a new look buy, this was bought a few weeks before I went away so again it should still be available. So lovely, I wore this towards the end of the holiday so you can see my tan better πŸ’πŸ½  this obviously isn’t all the bikinis I took but I’m sure we’ve seen enough of my body now πŸ˜‚

The yellow kimono I keep featuring in these pictures is also another major bargain, but it really seems to go well with all my bikini choices πŸ˜‚πŸ™„ like I’ve said I’m not a girl who has to wear expensive clothes as long as I am happy in what I’m wearing.

What do you like to take on holiday with you?

Dollibox πŸ’„βœ¨ JUNE BEAUTY BOX

Firstly, sorry it’s late but I have been on holiday & one of the products came with me 😍 wanted to give you a full review πŸ’πŸ½ so this month was jam packed, delivering a massive 8 products!! So lucky.

The product I was immediately drawn to was the mermaid makeup brush!! 😍 who wouldn’t be its so beautiful. This has definitely taken a place in my brush pot, still yet to use it but I’m super excited to! It’s really soft, plus it’s actually comfy to hold πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

I have taken one of the products away with me, this amazing palmers cocoa butter sun lotion! I was hesitant at first as I’m not too keen on the cocoa butter smell (even though I love chocolate) BUT the smell isn’t that strong & it contains shea butter & coconut oil. Fantastic formula, it also is quite thick, not too runny, perfect consistency so it applies perfectly to the skin! Just like to say using this I haven’t burnt ONCE this whole holiday (obviously I’ve had to use other creams too as one would never last) it also makes you look nice & shimmery too in the sun which I love 😍 I would definitely buy this again RRP Β£9.99

Pura cosmetics lip balm – prosecco flavour. Nothing else needs to be said there. This smells & tastes (I promise I don’t eat it πŸ™„) amazing. Lovely packaging & it honestly leaves your lips feeling glossy & hydrated. Best part about this product though is that it’s 100% cruelty free, which makes my heart feel full πŸ’– yay animals 🐰

Wax melt that smells like cake?! Who wouldn’t love this! 😜 I literally have been burning this for days! Lasts FOREVER! So pleased with this as I am a bit of a candle addict. The tealights I have been using are 4 hour burning, swear I have used at least 4 so far πŸ•―

Now I have recently tried some seacret products & I feel like I have been missing out. I’m falling head over heels with this brand, it’s fabulous. This month I received a hand cream that is to die for. With Shea butter, orange oil, sunflower oil, cocoa & vitamins a&e this product feels luxurious & gives me super soft hands. Cannot fault this πŸ™ŒπŸ½

I was lucky enough to receive two extra (only 6 are in the beauty guide) goodies this month, yay. One being a mini mud mask, by that fabulous brand I was just telling you about (seacret, if you had already thought what was it again πŸ™„) which I thought was perfect. Whenever I get a mud mask I always use them in the bath to really make the most of relaxing πŸ›€πŸ½ I also got a pair of beautifully pink tweezers, wahooo. So me! Been using them straight away.

Lastly, a concealer by popfeel. Not too keen on this product, not suited to my skin πŸ™ˆ I hate writing bad reviews but it irritated my skin so I haven’t used it again. I do have VERY sensitive skin though so it’s probably just me. But for the price of it I would say you should definitely give it a try, the packaging is cute too πŸ’πŸ½

Did anybody else receive this box?

Holiday empties; a fair few πŸŒ΄β˜€οΈ

So I thought I’d share with you the empties from my holiday so you can see what I have loved using whilst I’ve been away sunning myself πŸ’πŸ½ Woohoooo!

I’ll start with my haircare empties πŸ’†πŸ½πŸ’‡πŸ½ Don’t ask me why but that’s what I’m doing. So to start with washing your hair is always a good idea, duh! I’ve been using an Avon shampoo which is enriched with oil as I love to have silky smooth locks! Because my other half doesn’t really use a lot I decided I would try to do a double shampoo every time, which is such a nice treat. I love this shampoo as it gets a really good lather to it πŸ’†πŸ½

IMG_6320.JPG

I followed this up with a hair treatment (only 3x on my 12 days away) I used a palmers coconut oil hair mask, this is loooovely! I love coconut smelling hair products, especially on holiday 🌴 I like to really look after my hair as it’s so important to me! I can handle no makeup but bad hair is a no no! So I left this on in the shower for 4-5 minutes before washing it off πŸ™ŒπŸ½

IMG_6317

After this I used a tresemme conditioner! It was a luxurious moisture one so I knew I would be happy with the condition of my hair even after extensive sun exposure. I go a bit mad when it comes to conditioner, it literally goes ALL over my hair not just the ends & again I leave it on for roughly 2-3 minutes so it really soaks in.

Then comes the aftercare! So so important, even more so on holiday πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ I used a Schwarzkopf oil heat protection spray, coated my hair in this & it smells soooo nice! I usually only use a few spritz on my hair when I’m at home but I feel like when I’m abroad it needs double the care. I then followed this up with a nice elixir on the ends of my hair. I used both of these whether I had used the hair mask or not. Can’t go wrong with silky hair! And in my opinion mine could never be too soft. I never once have frizzy hair on holiday πŸ™ŒπŸ½βœ¨ (sorry some of the pictures aren’t empty, but I didn’t want to forget to take one)

Moving on to my sun care products, yaay! β˜€οΈ I used a few different brands this time. And two of my three empty bottles I received in my beauty boxes, aren’t I lucky? 😜  the first one I used was a Nivea factor 30 sun cream. Cannot fault the price of this product & I bought mine when they were BOGOF in super drug πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ I used this the first few days as it was a high factor protection. This lasted me & the other half 2/3 days sharing, so very good value for money. I found that this cream was super sticky as I kept getting bits of the towel stuck to me which was a bit of a let down but, no burning from me πŸ’πŸ½  (told you I would forget pictures)

The next one we moved onto was the most recent I received. I got this cream in my June edition of dollibox. Palmers cocoa butter sun cream dreamy right? I really enjoyed this cream! It had a thicker consistency to others I have used so I was bit worried it wouldn’t be as good. It contains Shea butter, coconut oil & plenty of vitamin e so it’s safe to say it left my skin feeling so soft. Another factor 30 which seems to be working for me so that I don’t burn. This bottle lasted the longest, probably 3/4 days this time. The only minor issue with this product is it says it won’t make you look greasy, but it does. I don’t mind but others may πŸ™ˆ

The last cream we used on this holiday was a really fantastic one. Don’t quote me on this but I think I received this one in glossybox last June. Ladival; trust me I had never heard of it either but it’s amazing. This one was a spray which I find never usually covers you as long or lasts as long, and is it just me they’re so hard to use when they get empty? πŸ˜©πŸ˜‚Other than that this was my favourite as it protected your skin from UVA, UVB & infrared Ray’s (4x more protection) This most definitely gave my skin the best coverage from the sun. It may have only been factor 15 but I was using this at the end of my holiday. I think it’s a little bit more expensive than I would usually pay but it is honestly worth it.

So after tanning comes the skincare regime. I’ve said before I love to look after my skin even when I’m on my holidays. This year I used a basic brand face wipe to rid my skin (facial only) of the excess sun cream it had on it then used a nice soap in the shower (all over) I’m not naming these brands as they weren’t anything too exciting. To then follow this up with some body lotion & a serum for my face 😍

I used palmers body lotion that had plenty of coconut oil to help my skin keep hydrated. I love this product as you really don’t need to use a lot of it for it to work. Best tip ever for you all; put some on your feet😜 you can thank me later. This lasted me the 11 days I needed it but I wouldn’t have been able to share with my boyfriend, definitely would have needed to get a big bottle. I would 100% buy this again! πŸ”₯

I then used skin chemists facial serum morning & night as I like to keep my skin well moisturised. I also found this little travel size so good, perfect amount for me. I did use this on the other half a few times too, he’s so luckyπŸ’πŸ½πŸ˜‚ poor man

What do you usually use on holiday? I’d love to know πŸ™‹πŸ½
